"It is what it is" is what every Godzilla movie has been. Anyone watching them is there for one reason and the rest doesnt matter.
But the monsterverse looks cheap boring and tries to be funny. Not what i want and i am a Gozillafan. But this is just garbagde.

Personally, I've seen it the other way around. Fans have always expected more fun action out of the franchise than seriousness. People would say that they didn't need fleshed out human characters in a giant monster action movie, no one gave a shit about anything other than the monsters. Its understandable, if you took into account the entire film run of the Godzilla franchise, the silly fun action ones vastly outnumber the serious movies.
Minus One felt fresh because it was different from the recent majority of its fellow Godzilla films.

Thank you! Half the time I question if they are truly Godzilla fans. If the Director of “Minus One” enjoys the MonsterVerse, and the Director of “Godzilla x Kong” enjoyed Minus One, why the HELL can’t we?!

One is about destruction and humanity's preservation...centered on gojira.
The other is about skyscraper sized kaijus beating the snot out of each other...centered on kong.
One is a serious heart touching drama.
The other big popcorn fun.

Rebecca Hall played in one of my favorite movies "The Prestige" with Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson.
I enjoyed both movie. One took itself serious and the other was campy fun. Would have like to see Kong do some sign language and have subtitle for it. Like when he try to tell Godzilla that he not here to fight him and when Mothra shows up have him talk to the girl. Kong "Me try to say no fight but he a BIG DICK!".

Godzilla x Kong move was like a Porno. No one cared about the plot, if there was a plot, surprised there was a plot and everyone wanted to see the action/fight scenes.
It was a good monster movie for the most part. I especially love how much of a boss they made Godzilla…literally killing another titan and taking over her home just so he could get stronger for what was going to come. Only issue I had was how they treated another new titan Shimo like a a loyal dog to Kong at the end with him petting her. Once scar king wasn’t in control of her anymore I was hoping to see her go completely nuts

I would like to see them give Godzilla the open/close tail fin that Titanosaurus had in the Terror of Mechagodzilla. It's a great design, and Titanosaurus isn't coming back. It would better explain Godzilla's aquatic nature.
He swims perfect already there's no threat that would make him need to swim better.

These critics were Trippin they looking for Casablanca and Godzilla. The movie wasn’t that hard to follow. I don’t understand why people kept saying the plot got lost halfway through. I just don’t think people were paying attention and they were on their phones or something because people are complaining about certain things that were mentioned in the movie. And a lot of y’all don’t want humans in the movie at all. Be careful what y’all ask for y’all really don’t want that for real. Humans haven’t been a problem in the movie since King of the monsters. The humans was done well in this movie the last movie and skull Island. Just watched this animated show an adult swim called primal just to see if y’all really want a silent movie with no humans talking.

3:13 me too. Imagine a movie with zero humans, zero dialogue, just 100% visual storytelling with these giant monsters getting into some kind of beef and fighting it out. That would be so awesome! Better than them awkwardly half-assing some contrived human "story" into the middle of things.

Rebecca Hall was in Iron Man 2....she played Maya Hanson, the Doctor who Tony had a fling with when he was young, but she was eventually murdered by Killian....I'm not sure what else she's been in.
The New Empire was a massive drop in quality, cinematography, CGI, and storytelling to Godzilla VS Kong. Very lazy and disappointing

Yeah Adam Wingard (and ig the screenplayers) proved they can tell a subtextual-like narrative without humans and just monsters doing their shit. I understood everything that was going on with Kong and Suko's developing relationship (literally Kratos and Atreus), and Skar King enslaving Shimo and the other Kongs, and taking the female ones to pass down his genes was all pretty clear to me. That was done pretty good. Also, Kong got knocked out because of the frost bite Shimo caused to him, not the infected tooth. That also made sense ngl.

Damn, people are going hard in the paint over an opinion about a movie... I watched it opening night and while it wasn't a great movie it wasn't a terrible movie either. I'll admit that while I enjoyed seeing the characters on screen I didn't enjoy the movie, and yes that is my opinion (Although I'm sure everyone else has an opinion as well). Mr Magnus thanks for the great review and keep them coming.
I’m watching right now! Man, is this comedy the first half and it makes no sense whatsoever and it’s boring as hell! I took my son to see this film because there’s no other film out there but this is the best we can do and it’s so boring and not fun at all at the moment. Don’t watch this awful movie! The only good thing is the fighting at the ending of the movie. No thanks! I’m going to take a nap while my son is watching!😹😝😂🤣

Can people please stop comparing Minus one to the New Empire. Godzilla is a complex character that can be used in different ways for example: a more serous tone like Minus one and then you can have a much more turn your brain off and have a fun time type of movie.
Godzilla fans are winning either way we’re getting the best of both. Serious, catastrophic Godzilla on one side and fun, goofy Saturday morning Godzilla on the other. I hate when people try and pit the 2 against each other. If you don’t like one then cool but don’t try and shit on the other just because you don’t like it.

don`t like the pink colour on godzilla, it is insulting so i`am not seeing the movie. king of monsters was the last monsterverse movie i really enoyed gvk was ok too watch but nothing good, and this is just another downgrade on it.
it shows how godzilla is depicted in the usa, they never had the serious tone in there godzilla movies they got rid of it beforehand, so i understand why us people like this.
but i have seen the original versions of the godzilla movies from toho where the serious tone was not cut out and replaced so i`am not liking this kind of movie it reminds me too much of the stupid showa era of godzilla movies where toho has bowed down too the usa insteat of respecting there own culture.
i`am just happy that godzilla is making himself a name around the world and people, it`s sad that hollywood must masakre him first and fill him up with there own stuff but ok at least the name stays, and if just a few people are animated too watch the original godzilla toho movies that are not beeing cut too death by the usa, then this is a win.
I saw clips of it, and I have zero interest. It looks like a live action Saturday morning cartoon. It doesn't have the same heart & soul as Godzilla Minus One. The best Godzilla adaptation I've seen in my lifetime.
Its not supposed to be like Minus One, the whole point of it is to not take it seriously, enjoy the cool fights and not think too hard about it.

Why would the director want GxK to be like Minus One? Why should it be like Minus One?
There’s 2 sides of Godzilla’s history: The serious/grounded tone and silly/goofiness tone. There’s no literal reason why both movies should have the same tone. We the audience are getting both sides in a short span of time, which is the beauty of Godzilla history-there’s one for everyone to enjoy. Not to pick one apart because you don’t like the direction of another, it’s funny how both directors of Minus One and GxK have more peace with themselves and support each other’s movies than the audience who try to compare both films. It’s like comparing an apple with an orange
