Hi!
My name is Justin and I have my managed my family's business (S&K Greenhouse) for the last 10 years! It is a local garden center in Shelby, NC that my family started around 25 years ago.
We have a strong desire to discuss and teach gardening to the online community and welcome anyone who wants to learn. Though we have been involved in the plant world for decades we have found that there is always something to learn when it comes to gardening.
Whether you are a master gardener or just starting out this channel is for you. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our videos!
Well, that was the most fun I've had watching a garden video. Well done sir 🙂
I agree! Interesting, amusing, and helpful. Well done!!!
Great info.
Your vid was one of the most informative and enjoyable I’ve come across on poinsettias. Specific steps to take, delivered with charm & humor.
Love this! I’d given up on poinsettias, but now armed with this information, I’m willing to give them another chance!
Most informative video on you tube. I learned a lot. I found a poinsettia thrown away and I want to rescue it so your information was very helpful Where is S&K Nursery?
Shelby Nc!
I grow the outdoors and the shorter days and longer nights make mine turn . Usually by November into December. They usually get killed by freeze a little before Christmas but it’s really pretty until it does
I'm in the bay area California. When I bought my house, that's was a pontsettia planted outside my kitchen window. Corner of the house mostly shade but morning light. The dryer vent blows out near it. I water it a couple times a month in the summer and it's over 5 feet tall.
❤😅
You're hilarious! Loved the hat trick. Happy Holidays to you and your family!!!
Happy holidays! ❤
I will try the blackout method
Amazing I love everything garden!!!! ❤
Thank you for the tips. Now I completely get why people just throw it away after the holiday. I guess I won't be THAT plant person, at least not for poinsettia.
Awesome stuff Sir....by the way...how can we get the varigated and the yellowish ones...😊
Great info 😊
I learned a lot from this video. .
Thanks for the information regarding poinsettia
This is great info. Thanks!
In the process of trying to have the bracts change now. Think I started the dark phase a bit late in the year to allow change for the holidays. I do see color change starting though.
Great info Justin
Great information as always. I live in Indiana and just recently started to think about my lawn and the front of my house. It very bare right now all I have is just mulch that I laid down in November. Please suggest shrubs to plant and what time to plant. Thank you.
😂 love it!
Thanks for info now i can try and keep my plant alive
Thank you so very much
Well that was delightful - thank you :)
Good to know! Maybe I can keep my beautiful plant alive!
Love Justin and Alkex’s videos. When are you going back to Bruce’s??
@@roberta7280 hopefully this winter! 🤞
❤
Good morning! Where, o where are you? Spring is close. Is it possible to plant shrubs and trees in early spring as long as soil is pliable?
@@njyo8135 Good morning! Absolutely! Also new video coming soon!
Hello I purchased a poinsettia at Home Depot in October. It has grown very nicely. A few weeks ago I accidentally broke two of the stems. I put them in a water bottle and they are growing new leaves. I am a little scared to replant and don’t know how to go about it. Any advice??
I was given poinsettia trees that are potted, they were about 5 feet tall, I put them in the closet at work and the night cleaner thought they were just a dead tree and threw them away….. where can I buy another poinsettia tree???
That is unfortunate 🤔because they’re not easy to find. I saw them for the first time at Publix grocery store in Montgomery Alabama. They were $40.
I kept my pointsettia alive for a year and was successful to get it to color and flower! Unfortunately, I have seen some whiteflies. How can I treat it?
When are the leaves supposed to turn red? I got mine over a year ago and now it's full of leaves, but still green. I didn't do the blackout method. Just by the window since last Christmas.
They typically will start turning in the fall. Try the blackout method to get them to turn!
❤
Hello. Where can i buy your shrubs in Portugal? Do you send from there?
Sadly we do not ship :(
what do i do to it after i give it a hair cut? one is still thriving and other isn't. i think prolly bc the one that didnt was near window and prolly had a draft.
I had the same question. Once we give it a haircut, do we treat it the same as if we didn’t?
👍👍
I have never been able to keep poinsettias alive. As soon as i bring them home the leaves start falling off.
With love S&k from Mr and Mrs Jackson from South Georgia
No matter what I do they always die by February…
No blackout method cause in nature there's no such thing
Are they poisonous???
@@connieparker8896 they can be poisonous to animals!
