There's widespread misunderstanding as to why the ICJ didn't order a ceasefire. Some genocide supporters even thought the court was on their side. Nothing could be further from the truth. We have to recall that the Genocide Convention is to prevent or stop a genocide. Its purview does not extend to preventing or stopping a war. But a ceasefire could cover more than stopping a genocide. To order a ceasefire would give Israel the opportunity to argue that it had the right to self defense, which is irrelevant to the case, as Israel was not conducting any self defense in Gaza. So, the court in its wisdom ordered what in the detail was a ceasefire without using the word "ceasefire".

Sunak and Starmer are complicit along with a majority of other MPs. This would stop governments spending billions on conflict and more on their citizens. Politicians should use their diplomatic position to focus on resolving problems not creating them. Less wars. Less displacement. More money for nations to enhance the lives of their citizens.
Forgive me for raising a hideous crime, but it was a crime which went ignored, known about but ignored, so therefore allowed, and it is the case of the paedophiles such as UK's Jimmy Saville to name just one of many I am sure. What ICJP is doing for the victims of war crimes is what should have been done back in the 1970's for the child victims of prolific paedophiles but wasn't.
I understand the magnanimity of your drive and end goals in these terms and this brings it home more clearly I hope to anyone in the UK hearing this conversation and maybe not grasping the full horrific nature of war crimes, as we are a country who in recent history has not experienced such crimes, whether they amount to genocide or not.
