For all the people wondering why their cats bring home dead or even sometimes half dead animals, the answer is that they are trying to teach you to hunt. In the wild mother cats train their cubs using a couple of steps
1. Bring home dead animals to eat
2. Bring home half dead animals for the cubs to get used to killing
3. Bring them along to observe a hunt
4. Have them help her in a hunt
5. Eventually she'll leave them hungry so that they are made to go hunt themselves
The first and second steps are what your cat is trying to do and since we don't get farther than that it's not usually apparent what the cat is trying to do.
So there you have it, next time your cat does that think of it like your cat considers you like its offspring and wants to care for you.

Y’know,not all cats are like that,cats actually helped humans lives before
it's actually possible to train cats. Most people don't actually train their dogs so nevermind them trying with their cats. Most cats can respond to their names, learn to use a litter box and know how to open doors (even if they didn't figure out how to do it themselves). However, people rarely bother to try to train them even if the technique to train them is the same than with dogs. They are also harder to convince to do the tricks because they really want the reward to be worth the effort, unlike dogs who would do it even if no reward is in sight. So like.. if you use a treat or toy they like they might do the trick for you. Oh and according to a recent study, cats respond better to social rewards like being petted so that can be used as a reward as well.
The wild cat my sister found and picked up learn to always use the litter box and open doors and the funny thing is, if the door is closed, he even tries to spin the doorknob because I think he saw us do it and once, I even saw him succeed. I was awestruck! Yes, my cat does respond to his name being called but, I'm unsure, if that's because we call his name or because cat's ears are sensitive and/or they're curious to know where that weird sound (his name) is coming from. He also, runs towards us, if we call him and chases my dad when he comes home, so yes, cats can be trained.
My cat doesn't respond to her name, but she responds to "Come here Kitty" If you tap the ground next to you.
maybe the name is too long... but if it's not the case. If you call your cat, make sure you give her attention as a reward for her showing up or looking at you (even if it's a coincidence), like petting or feeding her works. Eventually, she'll respond to her name. Not much different than a baby haha.

Her name is two syllables, and she only shows up for me, because I am the only one who feeds/pets her when she comes. She comes to me when I call her name, I meant she doesn't respond when anyone else calls her name.
I think I will just get my friends and family to do what I did, which was scratch her chin whenever she comes over.

Cats can detect your heartbeat across the wall when you're in your bedroom. If they hear your heart beating slow, they know you're asleep and they won't disturb you. But once they hear it speeding up, they know you're in the stage of waking up. The more domesticated a cat is, the better they will be at this.
This is why some cats wake their owners up at 3 a.m (light sleeping stage) v.s more domestic cats will do this at 6-7 a.m (typical waking up time)

I welcome our new robot feline overlords.
My cats knew how to sit, stay, lie down, fetch, get up, come here etc on command. I trained them to respond to voice and hand signals. They were like children and would challenge authority, but I win since I have the ability to open the kibble bag.

Cats are my fav animal, but i feel bad for those who hate them.. like those who had cats that bit, scratched and hissed at them n stuff.. i have 5 cats atm and had many more before that- they could be tricky to handle but they NEVER attacked me, nor pushed stuff off the counters.. i feel bad for those who had this happiness taken away from them :(( i love dogs too tho, both animals are awesome and i love them (also, those people who keep saying that dogs are better than cats and vice versa need to sTOP. you can like one more than the other but you gotta understand both have their ups and downs.. please keep this in your mind :))

I currently have 2 cats and one of them just attacks me for no reason. She has bitten me and drawn blood 4 times now, but she is 15 years old and we just got her from the shelter. So I'm just like "Ok guess I'm gonna get bitten every now and again, I can deal." She's a sweetie 99.9% of the time. Point is there are some cats that do attack, but it's worth it :)

This video is incorrect. Cats technically domesticated us about 10k years ago. It's a common misconception to think cats were used to catch the mice which is how they became domesticated. In fact, dogs were actually used for that purpose first. Cats then started to come along. The closest ancestor to today's domesticated cat is the felis silvestris, who technically domesticated themselves. As humans began making settlements they produced a lot of garbage with little place to discard. These cats actually fed off the garbage. Their ability to hunt mice was a positive byproduct of our curious pals. These cats domesticated themselves around the Fertile Crescent, Egypt, Syria (Cyprus), Iraq (Mesopotamia), Israel. From there, with all the economic trading going on at these major ports, cats made their way around Europe and Asia. Cats started as more of the tabby type and with genetic mutation, we now have as many as 73 breeds. Oddly enough, Vikings from Northern Europe loved the Orange Tabby, and it's thought to believe the Vikings played a major role in the dissemination of cats around the world, in addition to trade with the major powers at that time.

True, My terrier is far superior to my cat in hunting mice & rats at my summer house. My cat (Who been able to catch squirrel when they reached out balcony was unable to eliminate the underground mice hideout in our old-arse garage at the summer house. Anyways, literally the minute she left the car door, she ran on instinct to the place in question and just killed like 12 of them within minutes of each other. And since then we haven't had any mice what so ever, apart from occational rat or mouse that runs across the fields to another place.
She was almost on her way to hunt moose as well. So that's pretty dope.
My cat had killed 2 mice over 6 years living there. My Dog only needed 1 min to find the infestation and start killing all of them.

You Can train Cats o,O i trained mine because she had to be indoors for awhile because of illness. With no chance to roam outside she got frustrated. But the training (basics like sit, give me paw, turn right or left,...) Helped and she had something to do. It was an amazing time.

That grumpy cat was exploited with serious health problems that absolutely affected her quality of life. Not a knock against you, I love this video. It's just that Tardar Sauce spent her last few years in and out of vet clinics because her owner wanted to keep capitalizing off of her misery.
And of course, all of these pet videos are exploitative, but this person specifically prolonged the suffering of her cat to profit off of.
