Sir, you are a lovely player and I really appreciate that you employ a variety of styles in your demos so we can discover the full range of sounds the guitar produces. I could listen to you play without being particularly interested in the guitars you are promoting.
@@ohiosouthpaw Hasn't arrived still owe a bit of money on it but i got it for basically half price for a 2016 in mint condition from a music store. To tell you the truth I haven't even played it. The salesperson said it's awesome lol. That sounds a bit funny but I'll keep you posted. I'm sure it'll be good. All my Gibsons play great just bought a 2015 LP traditional it's awesome but my 2001 custom is the best guitar i've picked up.
@@ohiosouthpaw Np just trying to clarify for the Gibson haters out there as well everyone i've bought has been awesome. TBH i think most of the Gibson haters out there don't own one. Have a good one
I bought one in 2019. There's no need to spend $3,000 on an ES-339 unless you must have a certain name on the headstock. I upgraded the pickups and pots for around $200. It sounds great. The Epi ES-339 is a very nice instrument.
ES-339 or ES-390 ?? I'm leaning towards the ES-390, because I prefer clean tones, and don't play loudly - same reason I prefer the ES-330 to ES-335. For reducing feedback, putting clear packing tape over the F-holes supposedly helps, if you play loudly...
Love the sound of the ES-330, especially when played by a skilled jazz guitarist like the late great Emily Remler. I'm not sure the smaller, semi-hollow ES-339 can match the fatness of tone of the 330/335.
I had one of the “Memphis studio” versions. And it sounded and played great. Looked ugly, but anyhow I sold it because I’m stupid. Now I’m ready to get another one. This video is making it harder not to
Waiting for my order of this guitar (2019) to arrive in 3 days. I played one at a local Guitar Center and it wouldn't stay in tune. I thought about getting the Epiphone version and upgrading everything, but since the cost of what I wanted brought the total price very close to the price I got for the Gibson, I went with the Gibson.
how you liking it? Im planning on selling my strat and 2 epiphones ( les paul custom & epi es 339 ) for a real ES339. Would love to hear how you liking it
6 yrs after the introduction of this model and the price has gone from $2,000 to $3149? WTF Gibson? Guess there's enough suckers out there willing to pony up their hard earned monies for the name.
Its construction is a lot more time consuming than a Les Paul and look at their prices. They have ceased production and Im bummed. You can't find a hollow body that has the tones this does. It makes me think that they made the 335 too large from the beginning. 3K will be a bargain in the coming years. Look at this if anyone doubts me on the tones. ruclips.net/video/de-yA2v4A3w/видео.html
I dont know what planet u dropped in from but your ridiculously wrong about food prices. I have family that own producing farms. A BOX OF CEREAL IS 4.00, THE FARMER GETS 8 CENTS OF THAT !!
Snake Man I've got one (epiphone).paid $379 on sale from guitar center.its comparabl tone-wise to what i hear in this video.im sure the Gibson sounds better "in person"but the one i got aint too shabby
This guy plays much more tastefully than any of the other demonstrators.
I agree. He's not trying to show off. He's demonstrating the instrument.
He has that bonamassa style!

Excellent guitar! Great for Jazz, and very good for Rock too.
Just got a cherry red one last week. Absolutely amazing guitar!
just picked up a sunset burst today can't wait

I love that guitar. That is next on my list.
That walking jazzy bassy line was delicious
I have the exact same year and colour, a gift from my wife for my 40th. Suffice to say, I'm in love with it 😍
Nice demo. Want.
Dude has that EJ attack to the notes. Very distinct style.
Really beautiful guitar.
Amazing!
Beautiful playing 😌
Sounds fantastic! Great demo too.

Very good player nice fellow also

How about the neck-dive? Does this one have the issue?
What is that jazz song that you played? sounded awesome
I have and love the Epiphone 339 I chose over Gibson.
Lmao sure

Once he switches to the overdrive tone, all I hear is Joe Bonamassa playing
It reminds me of Eric Johnson

@@jed1mindtricks857 Pleasanly surprised. I bought a mid level SG last summer and just couldn't bond with it so I sold it. the 339 is much much better.
You need to stretch the strings before a guitar will stay in tune, an GC never does that.
Expensive
I recently played a 339. It’s kind of like a 335 with a thinner neck. Or at least That’s what I noticed. I like it.
Hi
Another guitar i need! My wife is going to kill me.
I've wanted one of these for years.
Lol ⛽️⛽️
If she does (kill you) it'll be because she'll want that guitar for her very own 💃
Would you recommend this guitar for heavy/stoner/garage rock?
@James Will thanks for the answer man. You're not having feedback problems with it?
@James Will Thanks man :D
Amp settings?
So tasty!!
Hii
How much?
Too much!!
I prefer the look of the older 339s, dot inlays look better than these inlays, also the sunburst has too much red compared to the earlier models.
I like more red and I think the inlays make it look better. But lets face it, we all come here for the tones and this bad boy has em all. Love it.
Ran Williams agreed. This takes it back to the 63’ 335 aesthetic. Dot inlays belong on Strats.
Really? I love the small blocks! I do think they look much better here on an ES than on the tribute SGs though.

It's called inflation. Everything is costing more and more over time. Soon we won't even be able to eat.
You can buy a cheaper version from Epiphone. I heard it was about as good as the Gibson model.
