If she wins the quarterfinal she’ll be back in the top 10 for the first time since July 2022!
I wouldn’t be surprised if she plays for many more years instead of retiring. People don’t understand the struggle she went through for her whole career having abdominal adhesions from endometriosis. Worst than any tennis related injury anyone could have. 1 or 2 years ago she had surgery to remove the abdominal adhesions she had her whole career. She is a entirely different player now. She is stronger than any other players on the WTA.
@@matprotium1205Don’t think she will play longer. She herself said it’s not a normal decision it’s about so much more. (Having kids etc.) I don’t think she could play ar this level for many more years I think she really invests everything she has left this year to retire successful 😅
I hope Danielle wins the tournament. She is playing with freedom and the love of tennis, knowing this is her last season. It is less stressful so she is playing better.

Collins has a "Take no prisoners" work ethic this year. Beat I have ever witnessed in the past few years. It is hard to see Siniakova lose like that because she too is an awesome player.

When Danimal is on....she is a BEAST! If she doesn't win one of the three remaining majors, we can always say we knew she had the game to do so. This was impressive because Siniakova, while most successful as a doubles player, is nonetheless a dogged defender and an athletic mover, and one would've thought she would have made these sets closer. But Danimal's game is at such a level that the Czech never had a chance. Go Danimal!

I hope Collins wins this tournament and returns to the Top 10, where she belongs based on current form. She is really in the Top 4 for 2024, along with Swiatek, Sabalenka and Rybakina.

I agree. I don’t think playing this tournament was necessary. I don’t want her to get burnt out especially considering it is a long haul from the French to the US Open.
