Glenn Campbell was absolute BEAST of a guitar player, one of the best session guys ever and could rip. There is a documtary of his last touring days, it was kind of sad to see him go through all of that, he was a great musician.
Most people are happy in our small towns. Housing is affordable, the crime rate is small in most cases, and everyone knows the entire town. Most people drive to work in a larger town.
Billstown is full of his relatives. Brothers, sisters, and their kids. The entire family is full of music and love. Yes, it’s Glen singing. Many times you can find one of his brothers, Shorty, in the cemetery tending to the graves. If you’re lucky he will sing you a song. The entire family are truly gems of Arkansas.
He was so much more than he was ever acknowledged for....❤ Especially as a song writer and musician...He taught so many to play and wrote so many great songs...
During late 70's I was a foreign student from India studying in LA . I was a huge fan of Glenn Campbell and never missed from buying his records on the day of release. I would save money for his albums . Gambler was one his best albums
I grew up in Glenwood Arkansas 20 years ago. Used to be at Billy’s house of guitar with my grandpa every Tuesday. Crazy that it has not changed much at all
I live in Missouri and have traveled to Arkansas for business and pleasure many times. Arkansas is called the natural state because of it's natural beauty!
Spoda I watch all your videos and I usually don't comment but this might be one of your best videos. The Glen Campbell grave site was just plain awesome to see and hear. Thanks for taking us along! I hope you and Nicole keep doing this for years.
I went to college in Clarksville. The poorest part of arkansas central eastern part of state. Texarkana is the town that dreaded sundown. Foust arkansas was the legend of boggy creek .you aren't far from the only diamond field in America by hot springs. You made my adopted state proud. Thank you. Comic Ralphie May was from Clarksville and is buried there. University of the Ozarks was first college west of Mississippi River.
I didn't look it up but I "think" coaches Bear Bryant, Barry Switzer, and singer Johnny Cash all came from that neck of the woods too. I hope Lord Spoda goes through Wolverton Mountain. I remember the song ("Wolverton Mountain" by Claude King) when I was a kid, and sang along with it all the time when it came on AM radio. "Ah--oo-ooh, ah-oo-ooh.....They say don't go...on Wolverton Mountain...if you're lookin...for a wife." I think the song topped the charts for a month back in the day, and it was years later before I knew it was in central AR and Clifton Clowers was a real person, and saw him on RUclips! Back in the 90s there was a survey by the National Park Survey (or somebody) that listed the top ten scenic drives in the continental states. A stretch of AR Highway 7 was one of them. So I drove it back then, and it was truly scenic.
I'm enjoying this video I've lived in Arkansas all my life and never been there I appreciate the tour ❤ safe travels Arkansas might be one of the poorest states but we're rich and abundant in minerals and kind n generous people and Gods scenery ain't bad either Tour of Glenn's grave is AWESOME!!
Arkansas finally broke the 3 million mark and I think their ranking as poorest state may start to rise in the positive direction...even if most of that is NW Arkansas.
Доброго времени суток. Карелия Россия. Большое спасибо за экскурсию по маленьким городам большой Америке. Вот смотрю видео и нарадоваца не могу города маленькие а в доль горог чисто и ухоженно. Another fantastic slice of rural America off the beaten path. Glen was really the first country artist to hit the pop charts on a regular basis in the 1960s with classic hits like "By The Time I Get To Phoenix", "Gentle On MY Mind", "Galveston" and the haunting "Wichita Lineman". Thank you for the tour.
Good morning to you and yours. GLENN Campbell was one of my favorite singer I didn't know he passed. Love the song that was playing. Watching from Jamaica 🇯🇲.

A very enjoyable video. The Glen Campbell cemetery was very special. The music playing is such a beautiful touch. I love the idea of the re-purposed gas station, with picnic tables, preserving a bit of history. Your videos are so enjoyable and interesting. Two cats, yay !! Thanks so much.😊
We live out in the sticks here in Western Missouri. Much nicer then where we come from , SoCal. Thank you for sharing your travels with us. Now headed out to clear some brush on this beautiful day. I wish you the best
A relative of mine took his family camping in Arkansas a few years ago. They had 3 kids under 8 years old, a pickup truck, a pop-up camper, and not a lot of money. Their first day in Arkansas their truck broke down on the side of the road. A complete stranger stopped, helped them get their truck to a shop, and THEN LOANED THEM HIS TRUCK so they could pull their pop-up and keep camping until their truck was repaired!
Visiting the resting place of Glenn Campbell is historical. A tear fell listening to him singing Amazing Grace, the motion sensor device is a brilliant idea commemorating his musical legacy

Glen Campbell was a GREAT musician / singer. Did you know that he played with the session musicians called "The Wrecking Crew"? The song, "Strangers in the Night" sung by Frank Sinatra, Glen Campbell played the guitar in that song. My wife bought me an autographed picture, and a music program for a show he did. Yes, there was the COA with it. I cherish it since I am a HUGE glen Campbell fan. Great video.
Greetings from a freezing London, UK (currently 33F), got to agree with you there Glenn Campbell is an inspiration to us all, whenever I'm feeling low or depressed a song or two from Glen always bucks up my spirits, his memorial reminds me of one of our comedians - Billy Connelly who always said when he's buried he'd have a pressure mat on his grave so when people came to pay their respects a loud voice would boom out "Get off me".
Hello again Mr Spoda from Hot Springs, Arkansas! You are knocking on my back door. Most of the towns you traveled through, especially Glenwood, are farming communities. You often point out all the poverty but you’d be shocked to know how much cash these farmers and other folks are hiding. How do I know? My late husband had 2 different businesses spanning over 40 yrs. The folks buying from him that looked like they didn’t have 2 quarters to rub together always paid with cash. I’m talking thousands! It always gave us a good laugh when they left. And of course a thankful heart for our many blessings. 😂 🙏🏻

Oh thank you so much for taking us to the Campbell Cemetery! (Yes, that's him singing and it's so cool!) Yes, his wife (3rd I think) Kim is still living.
