I used to make these exactly the same way you are, except we used higher stakes, we used three people and in Florida we had to spray the grass with bug spray and let them die off for a day before weaving. One guy worked the stick, the other two fed the bundles. Usually one guy put them under the strings and the other guy puts them over. Just easier if somebody is grabbing the other end to help you fed them through. Loved this video. Brought back some great memories...
Quite good indeed, interesting technique for making a floor and or door. Keep up the great bush crafting. would be awesome to see a week long outing with yourself and your good buddy over there from PM101.
Do I need a grass mat in the wilderness? Probably not. Is it fun to make, especially with another person, absolutely! Thanks for the tip, Will. I'm gonna try that!
great video. maybe next time, you could possibly use the blaze orange paracord so that we could see the placement of the lines better. just a suggestion.
Hey dude I recently got your knife the lt wright sospes and it probably has to be my favorite knife and that's saying a lot considering I have a Genesis, silent hero, and a jungles. I watched the reviews on your knife and people gave it a poor review but to be honest their idiots. I hope you send more people the knife to review on camera because it truly is a special design and I believe it could possibly be the answer to people's one tool options. I'm getting it kydexed my Doug Wilson and just overall adds to the quality of the system. Home run brother and keep up the great work.
Hey Will, great video. Three questions. Was the grass you used about 3' tall? And what happens when the mat drys out? Can you tighten it up when drys out? Thanks.
great video
Awesome!!
Great bushcraft skill! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome!!! One of the more original vids out there

Great video again. thanks for the info Will.
That was to cool!
That was very cool, something Im glad I know now
that's pretty cool
Thank you. I imagine it would work great with a bunch of dry bulrush reeds. Nice and springy and less pokey.
I'm adding that to my list of things to try. thanks. :)

where did it get a bad review at bro so i can respond
Nice how to. Was that done at Mary Jane Thurston park?
so the left to right part serves a purpose to?
Can you make a video better explaining how to setup the stakes and lines please?
I was thinking the same thing.
How long should the lines be?
How ever long you want your mat to be

Yeah the grass was about 3 or 4 foot tall and when it drys you can untie and retie the mat to tighten
Cool, thanks Will.
