    ➡️ LESSON DESCRIPTION:
This lesson’s objectives are to define kilovoltage peak (kVp), discuss the importance of kilovoltage in producing x-rays, and to discuss the effects of changing the kVp. This lesson also defines the relationships between beam energy, beam quantity, patient dose, and receptor exposure, and kVp. Lesson Objectives: *Define kilovoltage peak *Discuss the important of kilovoltage in producing x-rays *Discuss the effects of changing the kVp *Define the relationship between kVp and x-ray beam energy *Define the relationship between kVp and x-ray beam quantity *Define the relationship between kVp and patient dose *Define the relationship between kVp and receptor exposure

I don’t understand how will increasing the Kvp increase the absorption but in the other video it says that it will decrease the attenuation?

I think it's because attenuation isn't absorption. It's the decrease in the beam as it passes through matter. If you increase the power or energy/kvp more of the beams will be made and to the receptor as they're more powerful. But there will also be more rays that don't make it through and be absorbed.
