  • Sadhana: The Realisation of Life - FULL Audio Book - by Rabindranath Tagore - A collection of essays on the Hindu/Buddhist view of humankind's place in the universe. As the author says in his introduction: "in these papers, it may be hoped, western readers will have an opportunity of coming into touch with the ancient spirit of India as revealed in our sacred texts and manifested in the life of to-day." Most of the essays were given as lectures before Harvard University in 1916 or before. (Summary by Peter Yearsley)

Ask yourself who it is that is striving. Hint: It’s the same one that is trying so hard to impress others with words that have no value. It is our misfortune that such kind of writing skill , and knowledge about Upanishada is absent now a days in India. No one can write it again because hardly people possess such depth of knowledge and thinking now a days. We may agree with Tagore in some points and may disagree in some others but the fluidity of writing and the mastery of expression can not be matched easily. Tagore is easily one of the brightest minds of 20th century...

    I remain an atheist in the sense of not forming or projecting an imagined deity. That said: This work resonates and it appeals to those aspects of my brain that feels and shines in response to sitting silently in nature, and delights in a sense of non-duality - a lack of self-other in the universe.
    There is a poetry to this work, a sublimity that speaks and results in nods and ah-ha's that arise without effort. It is an antidote to the self-centred subjective sense that gets us into so much trouble - anxiety, fear, greed, delusion - and leads to repetition of harmful patterns of behaviours that collectively are so dangerous to life on Earth.
    My lack of belief is not in any way changed say for a recognition that within the wordless states of mind the distinctions that we argue about dissolve. The music is music, the poetry is poetry, the sublimity is sublimity. It is like a web of spheres of water droplets reflecting and sparkling in the sun. From this place, there is no argument - just beauty, and an irrepressible smile with eyes that shine.

      Nicholas, Socrates demonstrated that wisdom is knowing that one DOESN'T know. And the agnostic is WISE, for he admits that he doesn't know. But the atheist has blind faith, like the religious "believer" who believes things that make absolutely no sense. I was once agnostic, but my wisdom led me into all Truth. And this audiobook is absolutely correct.

      @LiveAndLetLive2024 8 месяцев назад +1

      I don't know what my advice is worth, but since no one has replied in 3 months, I'll try. :)
      On one hand, I want to say perhaps those people don't realize they've become depressed, and they could benefit from you bringing light into their lives. But on the other hand, if you've been trying that and they refuse to see any good, maybe you could branch out and meet new people who will appreciate your optimism more. It doesn't mean you have to shun them or close the door entirely; if they ask why you've become more distanced, you could kindly just be honest that you needed to meet others who want to try to see the good in things, and perhaps that answer will be like a mirror that inspires change in them. If they react with hostility, you'll know you made the right decision and you'll be glad you have a new support system in the new friends; but if, instead, they hear you out and choose to try to see the beauty, then they really value the friendship and you'll grow together.
      And there is a chance they will want to try that but find it difficult, in which case I would just try to make sure communication is open and honest so they feel safe coming to you if they just can't figure it out... As in, if they truly mean well but have some sort of medical or psychological issue that is hindering them. I think as long as those people are trying, they do need people with patience to try to guide them. But it should never cost you your own peace and balance. In my opinion, at some point, even solitude is better than the company of some people, if they're spiritually draining.
      I hope that helps at all, because I'm certainly no expert. That's just how I look at it, as someone who I believe has been in both roles during my life. 💛

    • @lolo-gn5tr
      @lolo-gn5tr 8 месяцев назад +4

      We are in no place to judge anyone.
      Whether or not they see the beauty in life and God, we must see God within them. They have a soul, they're sentient, they feel...
      That means they hurt, they feel pain, and that they want to be loved too. By love, I don't mean you have to go all out and hug them or fall at their feet.
      All I'm saying is, look beyond whatever they're showing you. Talk to them, ask them how they're doing, see if you can do anything to help; and if you can't help, let them know you're praying and hoping things go well for them.
      Cheer them up, make them smile.
      Look beyond barriers of race, religion, gender, economic status, and even barriers of beliefs. Appreciate them for just being there, for being human.
      The same way, love the plants and animals around you. They have life too, and therefore a soul. Therefore, God is within them too.
      Don't be upset that others cannot see beauty. Because your realisation of life, your appreciation of beauty, and your love for God compensate for their lack of all these things.
      Look for beauty in everyone. Whether or not they see it in others.
      Be cautious though, and don't let anyone take you for granted. Don't let anyone hurt you. You *know* the difference between right and wrong, and I'm sure you won't try to find beauty in the wrong things. You'll stand up for the right things, and therefore, you'll find your peace.
      Until then, do your work, fulfill your duties and obligations, and be optimistic. Hope is a beautiful thing. Be detached from the fruits of your labour, and simply, enjoy the journey. Enjoy and be mindful of everything you do - little or big.
      Take care and God bless. 🤎

    We, all creation, are in retrograde since choosing to leave the presence of the Creator. Our purpose is to return. Our lesson is to live unselfishly. Only when we are one with God can we be unselfish. We are powerless to help another while enslaved to the distractions that turn us back to our selfishness. Our desires designed by the Creator are to be focused on leading the casualties of existence through the valley of the Shadow of Death, or to provide the required sustenance to continue the soul's journey to rest, reward and peace with the Creator.

    While pretty good, its missing a couple things.
    Nirvana = Death of Self
    Existence = Individuation of Self
    Thus Nirvana is "a goal" and not "the goal".
    Oneness is inevitable to bring the new division of self in the perpetual circle of creation and destruction.
    Until that time, we individuated from "all" to experience "all". Thus we should endeavor not only to incarnate for as long as possible, but to also remember each of those incarnations, thus expanding the experience of existence itself.
    Good & Bad are moot - what matters to existence is creation and destruction - that is all.
    All things that are made, will eventually be destroyed.
    All things that are born, will eventually die.
    Everything that can be, will be and that which cannot exist, won't.
    Thus, again, good and bad are redundant to creation and destruction.
