I don't wanna toot my nation horn but it seems to me that Brisbane 2032 is a test on weather the IOC should give new cities the chance to host or go back to major cities that previously hosted it. So if Brisbane fails country like NZ, India, Philippines and many others that didn't host would lost their shot because Brisbane failed.
My guess is they would want to let a good amount of time go by before letting a city host again to mix things up so people get more excited, seeing something new.
London might be bidding for 2040 so it’s possible. Interest in hosting the olympics has waned as well because it’s so expensive and the IOC are moving more towards reusing venues so London may well be the first city to host 4 times
Madrid dodged a bullet by not being elected for 2020, but I guess that was the last chance seeing how they mostly want previous Olympic cities to host now
@@miniamaba6963 Explain to me how that is something a russian bot would say? I'm actually curious. Are russian bots known for disparaging the Olympics? Or Brazil?
future countries who will host Olympics will need to be free from supporting any sort of conflicts and wars to promote peace. That will include military supports and supplies to the conflicts and wars itself! May we all live in peaceful clean healthy prosperous planet earth!
That is a big no no right now. You know how corrupt things in the Philippines. So far the biggest sports event they held was sea games a few times and Asian games which they held only once and that is year 1954. So maybe they can host Asian games again to see if they were worthy before taking Olympics. So taking Olympics might be possible in the next 30 years but right now considering their economic status and debt I don't think that's possible.
Sis transportation and traffic alone has been a huge problem ever since and even now. I don't think we'll be able to improve that any time soon 🥲 If that single aspect can't improve much, what more for other aspects?
The consequences of having the Olympics in the Philippines would probably be similar to the consequences Rio. Especially with the infrastructure and venue building.
@@kristinab3838 yeah most likely they will become Rio 2.0. Unless they will follow what Paris did by utilizing pre-existing structures and improvising to drastically reduced the cost.

Where is the preview?
@@VersedyoutubeIt’s all good, the guy was just curious I think
The true cost of the 2008 Beijing Olympics is estimated at $40 to $44 billion, which would make the Games "far and away the most expensive ever".
Sochi would like for you to hold it's beer... $51 billion.
I hope the IRS is taking notes
I like to see Atlanta, GA bring back Summer Olympics but there’s no way that’s gonna happen. Atlanta made lots of money off of the 1996 games
Probably cost them tons of money too though.
Don't forget about the "shitting in the river" part.

Might be a dumb question but can't China or London just host it again because they already have the buildings and transport

@bryonyclohessy8105 yeah probably, but if it's financially too much then I think it'd be okay to revisit bejing after 20 years (2028)

people are looking, clean up the garbage, until after the cameras are gone.
likely the costs are so high as the winning bid has no idea how much will cost to build what is needed
And because cities make low estimates of costs in order to impress the IOC and make the bid more attractive.
