Everything was right in my world back then - my father was still alive & healthy & I was at the movies with my cousins, my brother, my mother & my aunt.
Hey Rich, thanks for this! These movie intros bring back a lot of pleasant memories! I look forward to seeing more of your content! You just earned a new subscriber! :)
I worked at the Bellair Cinema in Daytona Beach, Florida as an usher when I was a boy. We used the second intro with the bright blue background (same color as our oversized blazers).
These are awesome! I was 3-4 years old (born in March 1981) when they were using the projector logos still and I vaguely remember them after watching this. The one I remember most is the Bargain Matinees candy in outer space one as well as the GCC sky one. I remember that one like it was yesterday. Would be awesome if they could restore these and put them at the beginning of blu ray and 4K discs.
You have to admit, turning the letters of the company into a film projector is kind of ingenious. It has a very Sal Bass vibe to it. The guy who came up with that probably ended up in a corner office.

I vividly remember seeing this before Xanadu, E.T., Annie, The Great Muppet Caper, etc...
Awesome! Memories of movies at the Mt. Prospect Cinema, and Randhurst Cinema, Mt. Prospect, Illinois, 1960's.

I worked at the Seminole Cinema, Casselberry, Florida from 1968 to 1975. Did you work with Johnny Clark?
