Does s priest have such good aoe because it's technically uncapped? You can basically multidot everything, and for massive pulls you wanna keep voidform anyway which is gonna extend your dots through voidbolt. I know a lot of people are complaining about it, but honestly, you're comparing a priority damage spec to a basically uncapped aoe spec. No surprise that shadow will significantly gap fire mage. Frost can technically do better than fire in aoe, in fact frost is really good at both aoe and st, but they are handicapped by how frozen orb works a bit.
The more targets you dot the more insanity you get, which in turn means more devouring plague which then equals more single target dmg. Spec is just broken, there’s really no downside to it

Also if u ain't pull big packs to 2 min CDs, like in the video,u will be outdpsed, u cant hold dots on more than 12 targets without voidbolt. So yeah, shadow is ultragood in high keys,when tank is playing for group CDs and u got Evoker, but for regular player is average. Same thing was with Unholy in BFA. Regular players can't do that type of things. Also if SP so perfect, where all of them was in season 3? xD. Yeah, right, all run away because damage was bad. So it's only a tuning matters.
