One of my favourite songs on one of my favourite albums! Just picked up a copy at a thrift store while visiting family in Buffalo (Canada South). Listening to in my car takes me back to college. And now my 11 year old and I are belting out this song as we drive to and from town!!!
I met David Amram in about 1972-he used to play at a bar-I didn't know he was famous-in the Poconos called The Lone Pine Inn in Henryville-small bar in the middle of the woods!
Have always genuinely loved these guys. A life-changing song for me. But (not changing my opinion of them through the past decades) I have to admit that I never knew they took a political slant. And such a hard one at that Regardless, LOVE THIS SONG, and love the band. Always have, always will :)
I met Nabil Davonan Saad Riordon in about 1972-he used to play at a bar-I didn't know he was famous-in the Poconos called The Lone Pine Inn in Henryville-small bar in the middle of the woods!
They need to make a new version for 2024: "If I had a million dollars, I could almost afford to live in a house."
This song still makes me happy. ❤
That song never gets old
Musically, I agree. Lyrically, no with the inflation haha.
@@cnaizhen unfortunately, you are very accurate.
Perhaps the most under rated band on earth. Somehow Canadians have a way with lyrics and music. I'm an American war vet.
🙏🙏 on behalf of Canada thank you for the compliment and your service
Thank you
Canadians are just badass in general.
@@henrycodm896my favorite Auntie is from Manitoba
Perhaps... maybe... I guess... I mean, if you're into this kind of music...
This was the best song ever
This song is one big smile.
I love this song!

This song felt like the Wiggles for adults but in a good way, like upbeat and catchy and simple
Steven Page is something else and their stage presence is the best!

The "to buy" list is a bit long for just a million dollars by today's standards. Might need 10 million
makes my heart smile
Its great they added that Raffi bit about David Amram and the peanut butter sandwich. So appropriate
Awesome I want to rewrite this song and sing like a thousand version of its lol
Change the million to a billion - inflation !
