- What is up RUclips fam!! We missed you for a bit and hope you guys and girls missed us too :) Today we started our journey on the Diego Martin Main Rd(St. Lucien Rd), turned right and proceeded to the "Water wheel Rd" (on the right) which Lead us to the " Blue Basin Road" follow this Rd to the end and you will reach the Beginning of the trail to the waterfall. There is a park at the beginning of the trail where you can park your vehicle at your own risk. We also made a pit stop to the Historical 'Water Wheel' before trekking up to the Falls. We advise you all to practice extreme caution when going on any trail. It is always safer to go in numbers. Hope you guys enjoy this adventure and as always, "Stay Safe and Stay Adventurous"!!!!!!

My old stomping grounds when I was a child. Such a beautiful place.
This reminds me of a waterfall here in Jamaica Nuff love and respect to our Trini Brothers and sisters.
Jamaica is beautiful we can't wait to come there in the future
Thanks for reminding us of this important piece of history in Trinidad and Tobago! I think it is noteworthy to take a moment to remember the enslaved Africans who built that "Water wheel". River Estate was the largest and most powerful sugar estate and that wheel is reported to have been built in 1835. The enslavement of African peoples was abolished in 1833, after which former enslaved Africans served an "apprenticeship" period which ended on 1 August 1838 with full emancipation. It stands as a reminder of this and therefore important especially to those with ancestral roots. Respect.
Amazing history! thankyou for that.
Greetings again from Norway. Was nice to see Diego Martin, my wife grew up there..
Very cool! Glad to bring you some memories
Really appreciate you guys showing off the beauty of Trinidad. I didn't know there were so many places to explore in Trini...
Not a problem. It's a great experience for us and we thoroughly enjoy it. 😋
@@adventureswithloviematt You all look like u have real fun. Keep it up please. Its great work u both are doing for Trinidad.
@@BlackRuum Thankyou
Greetings from Canada, my wife grew up in Trini. Thanks for making it possible to witness the beauty of the island from afar, we can't wait to visit with our daughter.
your welcome :)
ha is the acronym for hectares a unit of land measurement. The estate was 1792 hectares big and built in the 1800s
I grew up I Diego Martin , and I remember visiting Blue Basin, this video brought back memories, I’m now living in California USA.
oh wow, thats cool. How was the transition?
I was there a couple decades ago and I will never forget the experience climbing above the falls. I and some young guys from the area climbed on the right side and had to reach a tree branch to pull to the top . It was a wonderland of perfection ....with clean gray green rocks, natural formations of all kinds and a pool of silver bubbles in crystal clear water to rival the best set up aquarium! That was a special moment that I know doesnt forever like that. Great videos guys ur production is fantastic! Ur excellent Ambassadors of Our Island Beauty.
Thankyou bro! Appreciate the kind comments. Yes we have heard about going on top. Will have to try that some day. Our island is beautiful and we will find all the hidden jems 😍
Omg Matt u r so handsome, lovie is lucky to have you, blessings to you both 😘🙏🙏🙏
Thankyou 😊 for the love and blessings. Same to you!

She surely is! Too fearless haha
Greetings from Jacksonville Florida. So nice to see you cover the Valley. I grew up in Trinidad as a child. Sometimes on a crazy day a work, I will remember us packing up the car to take a lime at Blue Basin. And, go for a sno cone with milk after ... my memories of paradise. Big ups guys!
thankyou. That's so cool. Snowcones with milk are

I feel so ashamed of myself to have lived in Port of Spain but, despite visiting Petit Valley and Diego Martin I never visited Blue Basin! I hope to correct that when I visit T&T in September.Your videos are so informative and inspiring, especially with Uncle Dan, 'the man in the van'. Keep up the good work.
This is the best so far. Water clear pool clean -no rocks to buss you head.
agreed!
Is how he say avoid the waterfall area because of the Suction...then proceeds to show a man diving off right into it 🤣🤣

Its deep under the fall because thats where the water have been dropping for thousands off years
Hey. Now saw this video on you tube. Lovely video. I grew up hearing there is a suction underneath the waterfall. I saw a few people, including myself used to bathe under the waterfall. There is a fallen tree log behind the waterfall, where bathers could stand up on, and just let the water fall on your body. Nice video, and keep up the good work guys.
Thankyou so much for watching. Glad you liked it. It's one of our best videos.
Love your videos🥰
Thankyou Heidi :)
The best so far. Pool real clean and no rocks to buss you head.
Haha for real . This one was the clearest layout and no rocks to buss ya head. Just becareful of the sucktion that can happen under the falls.

AWWW thankyou so much :)
Lovely video!
Thankyou
Great vlog! It was great to see the drive from DM main road to around the bend to St. Lucien Rd with the savannah (or was it just a sports field?) on the left. Imagine I lived in Diego Martin and NEVER went to Blue Basin!? I knew it exited but never got the opportunity to go. I know the water wheel, though I don't remember it being that huge. I went to DM Jr Sec further down the road past the trace that led to River Estate. Blue Basin is on my bucket list my next visit to T'dad. Another great vlog. Continue to stay safe!
Thankyou so much! I've only went like twice . It really is beautiful. Definitely put it on your list!
I felt refreshed
Your welcome
Lucky is diego Residence 😅I've seen there but not from this aspect, never been, that lil walk def worth it....
Yes the people of diego and blue basin and river estate all have this waterfall to ourselves. It's so easy to reach and a lovely pool to chill in.

You should check out the area above the waterfall and follow the rivers to it's sources. It is really beautiful
Sounds like a vibe for next time!
sugar canes!!! Same as in Mauritius. The owners got filthy rich off them. Beautiful place!

I need to visit all these places wow.
Yes indeed!
Awesome video, looks fun there :D
Thankyou, it sure is buddy. Tha ks for the support!
Omg can’t wait 😊 ❤️
❤
Enjoyed your video blog, I grew up in Carenage and never visited Blue Basin, anyhow was wondering if you could do a video of the North Post wireless station in Diego Martin. Cheers
Thankyou so much. Never been up there. Ill see what We can do in the future
Great videos, ha I believe is hectares
Yes they are! thankyou
I used to swim up to the falls and climb to the ledge that's about 6 ft up. Not as dangerous as you think, The people who died were the ones who jumped from the very top. Blue Basin is always cold regardless of where the sun is.
Thanks for the info! Definitely one of my favourite falls
So at the end of the video the waterfall looks blue ❤️👍
I guess thats where it got it's name from :)
Love my country Trinidad!

hi can not wait lol
Me either 😆😆😆😋
Great videos guys. Question what camera are you guys using to take the videos underwater?
Gopro hero 7 black for all our footage :P
@@adventureswithloviematt ok thanks keep up the good videos
look at the water falling behind you at 15 min the close off words it is blue falling water.
was that 2 gun shots i heard at somewhere at the beginning of the vid? Anyway i visited there last November and walk about 1 mile and a half past the waterfall and saw alot of monkeys in the wild. a phenomenal site.
Monkeys is blue basin? How nice. Never saw that. Gun shots haha not so much a thing in broad daylight in the west. Maybe at night yeah
Trinidad is nice,so much to offer,do you have rehearsal but just being real, the utmost thing,Congo Billy here again, meh girl JODI cute and SPRITEEEEE in her green outfit, and she would use the most expensive SHAMPOOOS in that hairstyle of HERS, in a good way,MATT your into many things, are you a lecturer... If JODI pushes her talent she can be an endurant and excellent athlete, she has that drive, she can really float her boat, admirably I would say if you get it... there is a specific mountainous road on the Maracas Bay way, just cannot place it at this time, where you go at the majority uphill, research this and make a video, real cool, give Thanx YOU ALL👽🙂😌
Thanks a lot
Wild chicken...lol
haha
I understand the water use to be blue, back in the 50's and 60's.
