Somehow I keep coming back to this video, seems like it's the best titanic theme on ocarina, now since I am trying my hands on the instrument, more do I feel the awesomeness of your performance, wish you more and more luck.
Way to go buddy. Wish i had your skill. I havent been playing for too long but i hope to eventually play songs like this as clear and accurate as you have.
You played great! Especially the treble part, with strength and gentle. I really want to learn this song, so I often watch your video followed by blowing. Practice playing the song. Hope can be like you.
Really? I wish you the best of luck. If you need any help you can always try to contact me on Facebook or something. Also thank you for watching the video.
Do my eyes deceive me, or is that really a triple ocarina?! I thought it was a double at first until I got a better look at how many rows of holes the right-hand side has. That is SO COOL!!! You play like a true pro. I like your version better than the one in the movie!
Your eyes do not deceive you. I do indeed play a triple ocarina. In fact I pretty much always play triple ocarinas. You can see some good pictures of some of them on my website; www.tomvanopphem.com Thank you very much, it's nice to hear that you enjoyed it that much!
MrIkaruka Thanks man! The only issue I've ran into so far is that when I try to play the lowest note possible on my 12 hole ocarina, it sometimes sounds way too airy or doesn't play at all. I think this is because I'm putting too much pressure on a low note, but was curious as to if you knew of something else that might cause this. I really like your ocarina too! It has 15 holes and two different mouth chambers right?
cupostick Hey it could indeed be that you overblow the ocarina on the lower notes, try to lower the pressure, if ya can maybe use a tuner and see how the pitch is. No, I actually use a triple, so 3 chambers. :)
Hey Tom! Aspiring ocarina player here. Assuming I did this right, I sent a question in a message form to that Facebook link you mentioned in your description. Hoping you can take a look! Really nice playing by the way :)
Please tell me something. When you're playing the higher notes it sounds still good. Not hoarse or pale. I bought the ocarina model STL Legend of Zelda version. Made of ceramics. My played higher notes sounds sometimes really terrible. Is it because your ocarina is wooden? I despair.
+Sch0k0beer There are a few factors that could have an influence on that. First to clear up things: My ocarina in this video is made of clay! It isn't a wooden one! So that doesn't have anything to do about it. So it could be that you are not properly using the right pressure to make them sound good. Try to practice with a tuner to see if you're using the right pressure...If that's not the issuen and you're doing it right , it could be that the ocarina you have isn't great. Like any other instruments the quality can vary depending on the maker... What model of STL do you have exactly? Single or Double Zelda?
+Sch0k0beer Besides what MrIkaruka mentioned there is also the possibility that the ocarina you have needs the acute bend for the high notes, which is that, while playing about the last three notes on most 12 hole ocarinas (that would be the hight D, E, and F on a C ocarina), you bend your head forward and hold the ocarina closer to your chest. Most twelve hole ocarinas have either better high notes or better low notes which means you have to take more care to play the weaker end correctly (either the low end with the subholes or the last two or three high notes), though it can be done if it's a well made instrument. It's easier to make 9, 10, and 11 hole ocarinas sound good throughout the range, but of course that means a narrower range.
@@MrIkaruka I have always been in love with the sound of ocarina and I have to just say that this is the most incredible version of this song I have ever seen! Absolutely astonishingly beautiful! My high school sweetheart was killed in a head on collision on Halloween and My Heart Will Go On has been playing repeatedly to keep me sane so when I found this I was absolutely blown away! I think I've been listening to binge listening to it for like the past 15 minutes! Hahahahaha!
Tocas precioso, te felicito y muchas gracias por darme la oportunidad de deleitarme con tan hermosa música. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lovely touch, I congratulate you and thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to enjoy beautiful music. Thank you so much for this comment. I wouldn't say of myself I'm expert. But I try to do my best! :D Sadly enough, I haven't been able to do anything when it comes to videos.Seeing as I tried to make my new videos better, and I had some people help me with the audio. They all seem to busy. I've honestly thought about just returning to these old style of videos, as I could do everything on my own. I must say it bothers me a lot :( It's a pitty because I really like editing my videos and such.
Hey. Well it depends the way I played this piece you need a triple. Because I do use my 3rd chamber on the highest parts. But you could work your way around it tbh. :) And thank you, it's nice to hear that you like my playing that much! :D
Dear CatatonicFear, I don't use tabs myself, and the way I played it I needed a bigger range then a 12-hole. But I googled it and found some tabs. So just search it in google and you'll find a few. Take care :)
How beautifully you play.. listening to you.. all the heartbreaking scenes from this epic movie return to me.. The ocarina is the perfect instrument to convey raw emotion as well as lovely memories.. Thank you for sharing these wondrous videos.. a master musician you are.. and in your hands these memories live again.. Thanking you through my tears.. God Bless you always.. 💙🙏🌹
@leleevee Sorry Leleevee but I don't have fingerings neither sheetmusic for this song. D: And also the way I play the song requires a range higher than a 12hole. But if you really want I can always try to find the fingerings for the lower part.
So, would this be playable on a double ocarina? I can always render it to work for my Ocarina, that is if my range is good enough. I don't know much but I think mine covers 2 octaves. By the way, I've been a fan of yours for some time. You are a great ocarinist!
Thank you very much for the nice comment! It's already been 5 years since this video and I have been practicing ocarina ever since. Now I have been traveling all over the world for the instrument. A lot has changed over the years, it's nice to look back!
+MrIkaruka Wow it's nice to know that you have progressed by leaps, I actually was never into playing music, just loved to listen to peaceful instrumentals and I accidentally bumped upon this video and the fascinating instrument that you play. It does arouse a strong desire in me to try playing this instrument, is there a way I can contact/email you? Regards:)
+Tapan Dabhi I never had any musical experience before I started playing the ocarina. I just picked it up and started practicing in my bedroom haha. Now I've got concerts, and I can play in many different countries. I even live in Japan now because of it. So if it sparks your interest you should give it a try, you never know you might like it! You can find me on Facebook or my website www.mrikaruka.com Easiest is to just message me on Facebook, sometimes I'm a bit slow with the reply, but feel free to contact me anytime.

@MrIkaruka Yes please that would be amazing. I really loved the way you played it, but I want to play it to. If you could that would be great!
Wow, that was very beautifully done. I recently ordered myself a cheap-ish ocarina from ebay, and I hope to learn to play this song on it.
Really? I wish you the best of luck. If you need any help you can always try to contact me on Facebook or something. Also thank you for watching the video.

What is the name of this Ocarina ?
In this old video I am using an Focalink Forte triple ocarina. Now these days I use different ocarinas. Icarus triple and Night Triple.
I wonder what you play in the 12th bar between a and g
is it b flat and a ?
