  • As you may know, I’ve done a lot minifigure scale MOC, but this time I’m sharing my new project, which it’s a larger scale scene, inspired by the masterpiece painting - Bedroom in Arles from Vincent Van Gogh, in this scene, he’s painting his room.
There’re three versions of Bedroom in Arles, and this one is based on the first version. This is the first time I’m making this kind of scale figure, and I spent a week to figure out how to recreate our main character Vincent Van Gogh in brick form, and I found it’s extremely interesting, and I’ll keep exploring bigger scale figures in the future. The room filled with lots of textures to pay tribute to post-Impressionism painting, and I wanted to create a beautiful autumn afternoon by introduce warm sunlight from the window.
Swipe to check out a close up shot and a video intro, and please watch my building process video on my RUclips channel if you want to know how I built this project from scratch. And I’m considering to make a short stop motion film for this project, stay tuned!
    Happy Friday, hope you enjoy.

I went to art schoole and studied Van Gogh. Van Gogh is my all time favorite artist. You have captured the look, feel, style, depth, and energy that Van Gogh is best know for. His paintings radiate with energy, power, they are alive, take on a life of there own. Van Gogh was a very passionate artist. His life was full passion, regret, sadness, energy, self loathing and depression. Here you truly have captured the best of the artist. Van Gogh would be amazed (as I am) and be very proud.

Unfortunately I can’t, they don’t allow existing IP to submit to Ideas, which they owned Van gogh’s copyright already

I inspired by lots of things like illustration, art, pop culture. And practice with different bricks and techniques, still working hard on that😁
