I’m going through something similar at the moment and I’ve found this video to be really inspiring. I am 100% undoubtedly going to pay someone to do this job lol. THANK YOU!

I am solving the exact same problem right now. I watched 2 other videos but yours has the most info. I had to dig to find this though and luck of the draw I did. You might want to redo the title so it is easier to find because you did a great job and it helps a lot. Thanks for the great vid.

Looks like a royal PIA, always hated working on FWD vehicles myself. Good thing you noticed the leak before it ran low on oil. Could have been worse I guess, that's what I tell myself to make it through jobs like this..

My 2005 Hyundai Tucson has the same 2.0 engine as does my 01 Elantra. Got the Elantra all ship shape, working on the Tucson now. It’s a lot of digging in there for sure.

When you said that you were going to have to pull it apart "Yay" I felt for you lol. It reminded me of a time when my timing belt broke on my Chevy Vega. It was Christmas eve when most stores were closed and I was just going home for our family Christmas get together. I hitched hiked to a place that happened to have one in stock and luckily had my tools in the car. I changed it in the dark under a street light and finally got home to my parents after my one and a half hour drive at around 2:00 AM. Some jobs you just don't want to do but have to. Yay!

+Dave Brittain Yeah, I wasn't looking forward to this, and I'm still not excited about the rest of it. It doesn't help that the garage is full, and it's cold enough to have snow flurries... I HATE being cold....

+Jo Daddy's Garage You ought to try working outside here in Canada. We have had a very mild winter though I will say with barely any snow at all here near Toronto. Years ago I was forced to change my in tank fuel pump on my 88 Honda Civic right after a snow storm. The snow around the car was about 22 inches deep and I did not have a garage at the time. As much as cars can be such a pleasure they can be a real pain too!

Chasing a leak in the same area in a 2006 Sportage, but it's a 6 cylinder.
I pulled the oil dipstick tube out to see if the oil was coming from there and now I can't get the tube back in and there is a lot of oil. I may be faced with similar issues.

feel your pain, had an 03 tiburon v6 that had the alternator die on, had to remove the one half shaft, a control arm and some other bs to get to it, all in all it was damn near a full days work. then at 99k the timing sprocket (reluctor ring) inside the engine grenaded itself. put a new to me engine in it and sent it on its way, last foreign car I ever owned.. bought new in june '02 sold sept '08 with a different motor. sad, sad. can't wait to see part 2

Hi. It's been a while since I commented Though I have been watching all your videos. A friendly warning ! I would recommend you change the timing belt has a precaution. Some if not all of these engine's are interference type's If the Timing belt breaks the pistons hit the valves, Causing bent valve's, damage to pistons, cracked head, One or all of these. Also a good ideal to check and replace the Idler/ tension-er.if needed.
I feel for you, Been there
    All my best.

@@JoDaddysGarage probably the easiest timing belt change known to man when these engines are inside the hyundai accent. Take off the front passenger wheel and then the plastic piece inside the wheel well on the engine side.

Hi my name is Carrie I took my car to a garage and they fixed something that had to do with the timing chain because my car likes to shut off by itself or it won't start right back up when I turn it off but the problem is I have a big oil leak in the garage is telling me that it's the front main seal and I don't know what to do because I don't have the money they're charging me to fix it I'm so stressed out

Nothing is easy on Kia Hyundai Rondo's Carens specially if working at ground height with just stand jacks and axle stands. 2 pairs of hands sometimes help but the design is crap from a mechanic's point of view on Kia Hyundai. Plus rust and bolts over-tightened and bad bolt choice by manufacturer cause numerous headaches. These vehicles can be repaired by magicians! I can name 4 jobs on my D4EA 2.0L Diesel that require so much dismantling a 4 hour job can take 4 days
