      Kind of a late reply, but I'm a firefighter and I believe the law states that emergency vehicles don't have to 'stop' at a red light if they're responding to a call. However there is a process that the driver and officer both go through before entering an intersection. We to have to at least slow down and 'clear the intersection' to make sure that it is safe to cross or turn. Usually people know to get out of the way of emergency vehicles so it isn't typically an issue.

    • @ZacharySmith-h1q
      @ZacharySmith-h1q Месяц назад

      They have to clear intersections. They are technically asking permission to go through.

    Women firefighters do the job, and some have given their lives doing it. A woman can't pull out a man? Well, in World War II an RAF bomber crashed on take off, fully loaded with fuel and bombs and the fire crew (men of course) wouldn't go near it, though the pilot was trapped inside. A young RAF girl ran to the burning plane, got the pilot out of his seat, dragged him out of the aircraft and then pulled him across the runway into a slit trench. Now don't tell me women lack either the ability or the courage to be firefighters, or police officers or soldiers for that matter. Here in Dublin, Ireland, we have a number of women in the Dublin Fire Brigade and they do the job just fine. My only bad comment on this video is the slow turnout, but I don't know what the call was so don't know if it was not overly urgent. Perhaps they didn't need to rush.

    • @THEMAJESTIRIUM1
      @THEMAJESTIRIUM1  9 лет назад

      James Leblique VERY WELL SAID MY FRIEND, VERY WELL SAID! THANKS SO MUCH AND THEY DIDN'T NEED TO RUSH AS I UNDERSTAND IT NOW MYSELF! THANKS AGAIN JAMES! ;o)

    • @jamesl6317
      @jamesl6317 9 лет назад

      So, it wasn't urgent after all. Thanks. Do you know there is an all-female fire station, no men at all, in Iran of all places, with the women maintaining the trucks as well as fire fighting, and women are now joining the fire brigades in India, which is great to see.

    2 minutes to get responding for either rig. That is sad!!! 2 minutes to get rolling during the DAY, that is not anything to be proud of for any emergency agency. This a major fire service and it took them 2 minutes. Let me preface this by saying I use to work at the ambulance that shared quarters at Atlanta station 29 in the late 90's and it never took 2 minutes to get responding for either the engine or truck at 29's.

      Richard Babb I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATION AND POINT.... THE TIMING COULD HAVE BEEN A BIT BETTER! ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT COIN I MYSELF RESPECT THE JOB THAT ALL OF THE EMERGENCY SERVICES AROUND THE WORLD DO FOR US NO MATTER WHAT CAUSE OF ALL THE DANGERS INVOLVED! THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENT! ;o)

    • @medic1rn12
      @medic1rn12 9 лет назад +1

      NO, no matter if your first in or second in or what, you do not EVER take 2 minutes to get rolling during the daylight hours. There could have been a rescue in a burning building needing to take place or a CPR to work, 2 minutes to roll out should have all of those fire fighters in hot water with their chief. I would have chewed me some ass had I been their chief. And the officers would be looking for a new rig to be getting on and riding cause it would have cost them their officer job on 15.

      ***** I am 6'2" 192 lbs and a firefighter. This woman in the video would not be able to get me out of a house fire, especially if I was unconscious and needed to be carried out. She earned that position through affirmative action and who knows what else. I do not want to speculate but there has been stories of how women on the FD get promoted. I work for a large fire department and my company alone runs over 5,000 calls a year. In 2014 we had 450 all hands jobs in our area alone. I have worked with women her size and it takes two of them to do the work of myself. The test they give these women have been altered over the years. Our department actually dropped the physical agility test before hiring cause women were not getting hired. In other departments the dummy drag used to be 190-220lbs. Now the dummy is 150lbs so women can drag it easier and pass the test. There used to be 8 flights of stairs you would have to walk up in full gear (70Lbs) with a high rise hose pack. Now it is 3 flights of stairs, no turn out pants and 50 feet of 1 3/4. They did this cause women could not pass it, sued, won and bam it was changed. I went through a roof back in 2009. I fell all the way to my waste on a 5 story commercial building. My partner was a woman who was 5'8" and weighed 140lbs. She tried one arm pull and fell on her butt. She then left me, ran down the ladder and told the IC what had happened. Her radio battery died cause she had not charged it, mine was unable to be accessed due to the fall. Anyway, a 30 year veteran captain showed up in a blink of an eye and pulled me out with one try. We evacuated off the roof and went to a defensive attack. The woman who failed me and left me was crying next to the rig and screaming "This isn't what I signed up for" Short of the story, she is a captain now on a truck company and no one will work with her! We call it the overtime truck! Her whole crew is always people working OT. I do not know the woman in this video but what I so know is she can not perform the duties of a firefighter 100%. This job is all about being able to perform 100%, not 60%, not 70% not even 95%!!!!! We need 100%, 100% of the time! Hope you understand now, no offense to you........
