I love restoring vintage odds and ends. What antique do you want to see Restored?
#lostandrestored
Great job transforming that old fence electrifier into an electrolysis machine. You got it looking much better too. Excellent work.
This has got to be one of the most innovative restorations I've ever seen! Outstanding work! 👍
Wow, that is quite ingenious. Great upcycling.👏👏👏👍👍🤙
12:21 😂 I get it... "♎️" 😂.
Clutch bits are one of the most unique design in the specialty category. When you look at the tip from the top, it take on a bow tie or hourglass shape.
These bits were very popular on vintage motorhomes. If you own one or are thinking about buying one to restore, chances are you’ll need a set of clutch bits.
Ohm! Hahaha. Great restoration. Love how you re-purposed it.
Przepiękny jest ten elektrolizer pozdrawiam twórcę tego filmiku serdecznie 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
Great restoration! I grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin during the sixties. I believe that was the exact model we had in the barn. That brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for sharing.
I do believe you have come across a wonderful idea. Thank You fer allowing me to watch your awe😢vids.
What was the Green light for, when something was zapped?
Excellent job. Well done and thanks for sharing.
good job 👍👍👍
You knocked it out of the park on this one.
Well that came out beautiful, and I always hated when I bumped into those electric fences while out in farm country. Nice change!
Always the very best! Complete artistic restoration and electro-mechanical re-purpose, great idea and wonderful masterful job. And yes, we get the omega joke "oommmmmm".
Fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing this interesting project! 🔌
Your content is always a pleasure to watch & your humor is top tier!
0:51 Those are clutch head screws.
Wow, what an incredible transformation! It's amazing to see how Lost & Restored turned a rusty, century-old electric fencer into a practical and useful power supply for rust removal. The creativity and craftsmanship on display here are truly commendable. It's inspiring to witness the repurposing of old technology to serve a new purpose. Great work, Lost & Restored! Looking forward to more fascinating restoration projects like this.
04:10 "Well... *I don't need an electric fence* ☇, just like this one here...🙁😒" (We surely know *how Lost & Restored's certainly feels about this* ...)
04:20 "So, as *I'm taking this all apart* ... Now I'm thinking about *what I can do* to make this as a *functional piece* for...🤔💡"
Ahh that's brilliant!! 🎉
Beautiful restoration mister well done
Bravo 👏 always beautiful works restored. Big hug from Argentina 🇦🇷
Brilliant nice resto with a twist. Ohmmmmm ohmmmmm 🤣🤣😂
Muy buen trabajo de restauración, el sistema eléctrico ya es nuevo, pero quedo muy bien la fuente estilo retro se verá muy bien en tu taller felicitaciones
Great job on the resto and fab useage for repurposing dude 👏👏👏 !!! Well done indeed! Reuse, recycle, relove 👉👉👉. Thanks for sharing brother 🙏. 😎
Really impressive outcome.
When removing that transformer, it reminded me of the Spanish saying: "Desvestir a un santo para vestir a otro" ("Undress a saint to dress another") X-D
The red and green indicator lenses look similar to a early1970s
Land Rover. Great job in restoring the electric fence. I bet modern electric fences would be weak compared to this vintage energiser and would not be affected by a electro magnetic pulse (E.M.P)
Nice editing 🎉
My son loves the magic and this was aHuge job , you did right by this piece of history. Respect.
I think what you repurposed it to was actually a pretty good idea, still kind of fulfilling its original role
Amazing electric fencer ⚡️🟢🔴
I would love to learn more about antique electric tools restoration. I have an amazing knife sharpener, it's possible that it is one of the first electric ones.
Dr. Frankenstein would be proud of you.
Beautiful work❤
O
Very clever👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍
The thumbnail looked like a sad robot... it looks much happier by the end of the video.
That’s a really cool up-cycle project! You definitely have the coolest electrolysis power supply box now 😂 great work!
Trabalho magnífico
Parabéns

I got the joke, amazingly as my electronics knowledge is beyond basic, but it made me chuckle. LOL
Dad Joke of the day. Loved it
Nice job. It would've made a great joy buzzer too.
People are shocked when they find out I'm not a good electrician. ⚡ 😆
Good work
I would prefer an old fashioned battery charger. They work great on completely dead batteries. An old fashioned battery charger works very well for electrolysis as well. I have also used them to power low voltage soldering irons. A battery charger needs a few extras but they are easily and cheaply obtained. I do like the workmanship.
Awesome Video
Damn cool work ❤
Electrician chant was a good one lol that old boy was in rough shape great restoration love the process you took A-Z ( all the best to you & yours ) 🔧 🔩🪛
Can you explain? I didnt get the joke
@@My_Nlgga ohm.... They chant ohm which is a related to electricity term.
@@My_Nlgga ohm kinda like humming hmmmm
Ah ok thanks
@@My_Nlggaohm (symbolized by omega) is the unit of electrical resistance
That is such a great project 😄😄
Very enjoyable to watch. I couldn’t guess what it was 😂😂 great work!
Definitely love the idea! It fits being a power unit for that.
This restoration made my brain hertz......😆
Thank you for a very clever and highly enjoyable restoration -the yoga enthusiast in me appreciated your humour! Stay safe
LOOKIN' GOOD, NICE JOB. KEEP SAFE

Cool idea about making your own tool
MASTERPIECE!!!!!
Those screw heads are what is called a Clutch Bit screw. They were an early attempt at a security screw, but like you did, obviously grinding down any basic flathead screwdriver isn't very "Secure". Either way, you can still buy those bits fairly easily.
Fun Fact: The electric fence was invented in my country New Zealand by Bill Gallager, who was the Founder of Gallagher electric fences. This is more of a 50s era model.
That was very interesting to make a charger out of a electric fence machine 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Love it!
I love it!
I loved the joke! That was a clever way of repurposing that charger.
Oooohhhhm. Good one!😂 Very good work btw!
The masterpiece! 🎉
Very good
Good stuff
Great looking restoration and you did an amazing job restoring it as well!!!
I enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Great job! Considering that the restoration is not authentic (switch on the side) I would put an ammeter and a voltmeter (full of round, retro appliances on the market).
Way to cool.
I grew up on a farm and we had an electric fence charger that looked very similar to this one, same size and shape with the big green and red lights. The green one would flash and the charger would click as it sent current to the electric fence. This would have been back in the late 60's/early 70's.
What did the red light mean though ?
nice job
Nice!
Looks great, but what about venting the case if you plan to use it often?
Wow! I actually guessed right!
I'm afraid the guild of Igor's will remain on Disc world, until a bumbling wizard tears another trans-dimentional hole between universes again.
My cows approve of this repurpose.
Very cool❤
the odd screws are clutch-head drive. not uncommon in the 1940's and 1950's.
type G, specifically
Harbor freight sells a kit with those bits.
I haven't seen clutch head screws since I was in high school auto shop learning to rebuild Holley 4150 carburetors
@@lostplanet7046 I'm only 30. I've seen them around the world. Specifically military bases and old factories overseas. Also see them on old electronics and gadgets at yard sales and flea markets. They resemble the safety screw used on a bathroom partition. Like at loves and pilot or rest areas.
@@purplezart🎉❤😊🎉😅😅😅😅😅😅
Perfect
Класс 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
👍📻 The craftsmanship with which this restoration was done is simply impressive!!! ⚒️👍
This was a great repurposing. Sometimes, it is hard to justify whether to restore, repurpose, or just junk it. In this case case I think you made a good call. The main thing is that you did not do anything to the case that could not be restored to the original if some future antique addict chooses to do so. It looks the same but has a new function somewhat akin to the original. Cool piece, I was thinking of a lamp or USB charging station.
Fantastic, I notice you showed the plastic bag swollen after two days in the sun, it must be nice where you live, in England we're lucky if we have two days of sun all year round. 😂
As soon as you said you were thinking how to make this something useful for you, I thought that it could propably beturned into some sort of power supply for electrolysis. Glad to know I was right!
And the joke was awesome, lmao
In the US we call those clutch head screws.
I literally shouted "you suck pal" at that ohm joke. Thank you for that lol
Ohm, ohm on the range... ;-)
not 100 years old, but pretty old. I had one just like it that I bought at a junk sale from a neighboring farm. THe "chopper" inserts would cause it to cycle and burn any weeds or grass that grew into the fence. Does this new one actually charge a fence and burn weeds/grass or just charge a battery?
Looks darn good either way.
0:50 That looks like a Hi-Torque to me.
Ficou top 10 👋👍
Dashed my hopes of seeing you test an electric fence on yourself
Battery charger. Why? 'cos I've seen this video before. 😁 Electricians chant 'Ohm'
“It’s perfect”
Ohm!!
They used to have these screws in older mobile homes. Then square head, now star heads.
If this electric fence control was 💯 years old, then it must have been made and used in 1923! This was right long before our time. 💶 💯
This is not 100 years old, probably 70 or 80. Awesome work!!
Nice repurposing project. BUT, with a little clever thinking, you could make it do both purposes. A mere DPDT switch and it could also be used as a fence charger. The old high voltage transformer can easily be rewound to make it such a project. And new caps as well. Just an idea since you asked for ideas... Thumbs Up!
I love it and thank you. I have very little experience with electrical work.
I will now forever believe that all monks are secretly electricians: "ohm" is such a good joke, I couldn't Resist laughing (I love the idea of turning it into an electrolysis machine)
Make 2IN1 - battery charger and electric fence power source with car spark plug induction coil.
Those screws are called " clutch head"
I'm guessing you're going to use it for electroplating. Nice.
Which is the name of this portable machine for rust removal?
1041-1954 clutch screw head originally manufactured for Chevy and GMC pickup trucks
