Yeah, beatstep pro Is a great controller for TR-8. I bought a used TR-8 recently and I like it a lot sequencing it from The Beatstep. The sound is great and punchy. I added Volca Sample for more flexibility regarding additional sounds.
Dude, so I then can just change kicks, without remapping everything again? For example, if Kick is on C2, I can change one billion times Kicks on C2 without remapping for each changed new Kick? And a 2nd Question mate: The build in Shuffle works perfect with own samples? Thx, Felix
Correct, there's no need to remap everything each time. And yes, the shuffle will work on your own samples which are loaded into the Ableton drum rack.
@@remotify thanks for the input. I have the latest firmware for my tr8. The faders now work. But I can't control my tr8 if the channel is not selected, which doesn't allow me to add new instruments (tracks) and still be able to operate the tr8 Please help :)
Yeah and all my processing is done with identical but very tweakable instrument racks (with macros) on all the tracks. I just swap out the samples for anything I want when opening a new project. Currently in the process of fleshing out this for use in a hybrid DJ set. Slowly, slowly getting there with Control Surface.@@mromegajohn

Ah I got all excited then, but I create drum kits in Ableton using individual tracks as drum racks are huge CPU resource hogs.
