You are a very smart Lady. The shortcuts to learning the Spanish language you have demonstrated are invaluable.Im a British motorcyclist and work as a tour guide, leading small groups of bikers through Spain, for a 7-10 day tour.As a guide, my daily (Spanish) vocabulary (because of the nature of the job) is fairly limited. It mainly consists of, organising the bikes to get through border crossings,UK/SPAIN, stopping for fuel, food .Ocasional punctures, breakdowns, and of course checking into hotels, ordering food ,at restaurant stops.I used to be a slave to cojugating huge lists of verbs, for present/past/future, which can be extremely frustrating.Your video literally made me completely re-think how to learn the language. My "daily" GO-TO verb list has shrunk by 75%, plus the stress-level! I started "again" with a list of ONLY the verbs i use daily, in particular respect to the job i do, (approximately 20 verbs).Of those, i only learn 1st,2nd and 3rd person(for now) because the others ive found i can learn as i go, through exposure to the language. In my experience, this has massively jump-started my ability to speak with confidence and fluidity, thanks to your basic premise of just treating cojugated verb forms as just another word to learn .You are an inspirational teacher, ive watched a lot of you tube videos and found your approach to learning to be refreshing and extremely useful. Kind Regards from the U.K.
Thank you so much for your comments and for sharing your experiences!! I'm thrilled that this approach has and will simplify (and therefore, enhance!) your language learning process! 😀
Oh yeah, acabo de terminar swooning. This video is exactly what I needed. My experience is not unique and this is a mindset switch. I have notes up to my hips but thought I could cram or come up with my own coded trick to conjugate. Just add it to my cuaderno vocabulario and keep it moving. Very grateful to you.
¡Guau! ¡¡¡Muchas gracias!!! Yo estaba a punto de empezar con un sitio web llamado conjugemos!!! ¡¡¡ejercicios!!! ¡¡¡Ejercicios interminables de conjugaciones verbales!!! ¡¡¡Tu idea es tan lógica y maravillosa!!!!
I looked at verb conjugation charts as yeah it is the logic of the language however Spanish in each tense is treating it as a new definition if we can take the tense logic and turn it into a definition we have just made it easier to understand
I agree with you- simply more words to learn- When I am teaching HS Spanish I have my students focus on one set of the "words" in a certain tense at a time. This helps them to learn in context. Estoy de acuerdo.
Thank you for this video. I started learning Spanish a couple years ago as I inspect apartments and houses on a daily basis and wanted to be able to communicate better with some of the tenants and maintenance I meet but I haven't gotten much farther than being able to say a few key words to them. I think I'll take your advice and write out a list of phrases I say all the time and learn those in Spanish. Maybe that would allow me to use it in real life quicker.
This is how I recently began remembering my Spanish and building on it. But I was overwhelmed by verbs. Now I see my thoughts on learning are a good means to do so. ¡Muchas gracias por confirmarlo!
@@EricaRayLanguage I am old and when I began learning Spanish years ago I studied verb conjugation only to pass the exams and then I had a memory so I did really well. That gave me a false base of what I thought my level was. Now, I am in Mexico and I don't have the verbs down very much at all and my memory seems to be out there somewhere. Anyway, I am happy to know there are ways to recover. So I am going to give this a real shot. Thanks very mucho.. 😀😍
¡Hola! Estoy comenzando mi viaje lingüístico y realmente aprecio todos tus videos. Trabajo en un establecimiento de abarrotes que se especializa en productos internacionales. Hay muchos clientes que hablan español y me pongo muy nervioso cuando intento tener una conversación con ellos. ¡Sigan subiendo esos videos útiles!😊
Ok it’s like you know me. I was doing all the things you talked about. I’m REALLY trying to learn the language. I’ll try your approach more and be more patient with myself. Thanks!
Muchas de las preposiciones en español se usan de la misma manera en inglés. Pero hay excepciones. Por ejemplo, "Pensar EN" (cuando en inglés no decimos "Think IN" sino "Think ABOUT". Si estás batallando debido a estas excepciones, puedes identificarlas, y luego practicar varias oraciones específicamente enfocadas en tus puntos débiles. :)
If you're living in earthquake country, that foundation footing isn't nearly deep enough! And make damned sure the second floor is tied well to the first, and that the first floor is well anchored to that zapata corrida!

This is so helpful. Conjugation makes me so nervous but it helps to just think of the verbs as another word. 👍🏽
Yay! Glad it was helpful!
