During our trip in Hawaii, our dance teacher Paul brought us to DonHo's show, which turns out to be DonHo's last show in his life as he died on the day after the show.
Saw Don's show in November 2005 during my honeymoon. Don invited me and my wife on stage after being tipped off by his handlers. Asking us where we were from, we told him New York. With that, he starts playing New York, New York. At this point, I grab a mike on stage and start singing with the full backing of the band and got a standing O. We'll never forget Don's graciousness and kindness that day. We'll never forget you Don. Mahalo.
As a marine stationed at kaneohe I attended many of dons shows at dukes in Waikiki and before I went to DaNang Air base I met hi in California for his concert Don always took a moment during his shows to recognize the military men and women who attended his shows I still have my maitai glass from the dukes place Don was a great man a wonderful singer and entertainer RiP
I got to know him well, my father and him were tight. Don smoked his first doobie because of my pops. He had my ol' man produce his album Take A Walk In The Country, a song written by my dad for him that later went on to be a huge hit for Makaha Sons with IZ. I was blessed to have been invited up on that same stage in '97 to sing it with him. Back when they were working on the album in '74, he brought our family over to Oahu and were treated like Royalty. Limos, shows, island tours, suite at the Hilton...love and aloha to uncle!
GOD BLESS and REST IN PEACE.. I saw him in person at The Grand ole Opry, in Nashville TN. Tiny Bubbles and Pearly Shells. I sat in the second roll as guests of a country singer. He is missed.
Thank you for posing! We were blessed to have seen Don perform in 2005 and 2006. He was awesome both times. We have photos with our meet and greet with him and he was a very kind man! RIP Don Ho❤
I was lucky enough to be on one of the first R&R flights from Vietnam in 1965 and saw his show. He brought us on stage for a nice welcome. I took my wife back in 1969, saw his show again and still great. We went back in 2001, first flight into Hawaii after 9/11, no crowds, kind of a very mixed blessing, and saw him one more time. We talked for about 5 minutes in his reception line reminiscing from 36 years earlier. There won't be another like him.
I saw Don and Hoku at the State Line in Nevada...couldn't pass on seeing the Hawaiian King live at least one time...God blessed Don Ho with "Tiny Bubbles"

My brother and I sailed into Oahu in 94...we walked past where Don Ho was performing. My brother thought he was : Engelbert Humperdink...? I corrected him...Don Ho was very gracious with his time and with his guests..
