Prajna Paramita is a condensed of all Buddhas teaching.
If it is easy to comprehend as you say, everyone is ALREADY a buddha, meaning you will also attain those super natural power i.e. walk on water or walk one inch above the ground so you wont kill those tiny2 creatures that you cant see with naked eyes; etc..
You can comprehend through intellectual understanding only, you reach the mundane truth, superficial truth, but the ultimate truth is still a long way journey through millions kalpa of rebirth perhaps.

I believe his teachings are so applicable in every way in everyone's life. Self reliance and self responsibility with boddhichitta. May all our words, thoughts and action be of benefit to all sentient beings. May all beings be happy. Thank you for this wonderful lecture.

Heart Sutra used in this video lecture by Ven. Guan Cheng:
    The Heart Sutra (Prajna-paramita-hrdaya-sutra)
Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, when practicing the profound Prajna-paramita, perceived that the five skandhas are empty, and thereby became free from all suffering.
O Sariputra, form is none other than emptiness; emptiness is none different than form. Form is emptiness; emptiness is form. The same is true with perception, conception, volition, and consciousness.
O Sariputra, all dharmas are characterized by dependence upon causation. They are neither created nor do they perish, neither defiled nor immaculate, neither increasing nor decreasing.
    Therefore in emptiness there is no form, no perception, no conception, no volition, no consciousness; no eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind; no form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or object of mind; no realm of the eyes… up to no realm of consciousness;
No ignorance, nor its extinction…up to no old-age and death, nor their extinction. There is no suffering, no cause of suffering, no extinction, no path, no wisdom and also no attainment. Because there is no object to be obtained.
The bodhisattvas, through practicing Prajna-paramita, have no obstacles in mind. Having no obstacles, they overcome fear, liberating themselves forever from delusions, ultimately realizing Nirvana. All Buddhas of the past, present, and future, relying on Prajna-paramita, attain Anuttara-samyaksambodhi.
Therefore one should know that Prajna-paramita is the great, supernatural mantra, the great, bright, unsurpassed and unequalled mantra, the destroyer of all suffering, the truth. A mantra of Prajna-paramita should therefore be proclaimed. This is the mantra:
    Gate Gate Paragate
    Parasamagate
    Bodhi Svaha!
With deepest gratitude to Ven. Guan Cheng for the compassion and effort in explaining the profound meaning of the Heart Sutra in his lecture. 阿彌陀佛!
    Transfer of merts:
    願以此功德,普及於一切,我等與眾生,皆共成佛道

I am grateful for your sharing all the Dharma teachings online. It is so helpful that guides me through into Buddha’s in-depth teaching, allow me training, watching my mind and practicing my thoughts. I even come up with a plan to travel with my family next year from Australia to Vancouver Canada to attend your teachings at the temple. I had a look online your temple in Richmond Canada, however, I am puzzled that the temple seems quite materialistic in a way the luxurious buildings, gold statues,…and all that, didn’t Buddha teach us no form, no I, everything is an illusion, should not be attached to a thing…? I still have good faith in the teachings, just wondering why?

    • @peacebe2u480
      @peacebe2u480 Год назад +1

      Nadia,
If you visit the temple.. do you like to visit a run down diry temple, no maintenance up keeps? There.are also wealthy buddhists that love to visit *nicely kept temple* ; it is a faścade only. What you describe about no form, no I, etc is for your INNER SELF development.. what you see through your eyes, mind-eyes are illusion, as such it should never bother you.. consider it as a tool, an object lesson only. I understand what you meant. I had same question long long time ago.

Excellent, I live in Singapore and there are a lot of Chinese Buddhists. I always hear the sutras being chanted at void deck funerals but have no idea what they're saying (coming from a non Buddhist background, plus my Mandarin is also horrendous). So I'm learning what the Heart Sutra is about.

To make it easy for everyone I would like to summarise what Heart Sutra is about:
The whole Sutra means "Life is just a dream". All things or events that we see in our dream, none of those are real. They are just illusions. When you are awake you will realise that everything appears in your dream is simply emptiness. Our samsara world does not exist. Nothing actually happens in the samsara world. Just like nothing really happens in our dream. The Heart Sutra keeps reminding us not to be fooled by the illusions. Our heart can't be in peace if we treat illusions as real things.

During my life I would make an attempt at an activity and it never would work out so not today I understand emptiness and I have concluded that everything I have attempted was really an empty effort with empty results. I do not try anything anymore. They do not seek results anymore. I do not seek anymore. What I see there's a lot of people throwing themselves cat things but they never get just like I was doing.

Refer to the concept : Sunyata. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Śūnyatā
It is a core concept of Buddhism.
Heart sutra is core sutra of Mahayana school.
The Theravadas does not approve the authority of Heart sutra: myths concerning avaloki Bodhisattva. The elders simply contested that the event mentioned in the sutra did not take place.
However, sunyata itself is core concept of Theravada school as well. Just the Theravada monks do not chat heart sutra.

Please read the entire posting before sending me less than positive remarks.
Very disappointing, that people suggests a hell. Negative energy does not exist. Evil is not the opposite of good, it is the absence of it. Darkness is not the opposite of light, it is the absence of it. Same is for sound, electricity, weight, touch, heat etc etc. The universe did not exist at absolute zero (that temperature where there is absolutely no heat) The universe was creating heat as it came into being.
Buddha states not to believe anything that makes no sense. Hell makes no sense. Anyone that has had a spiritual experience never experience hell. The only hell that there can be is an absence of Nirvana. We experience that in this world that we live in now. There is no punishment, with cause and effect, we punish ourselves, by abhorrent behavior, and thoughts. I am not saying that you cannot experience suffering. We cause our suffering, and we can stop it. No one else can. Not Zoroaster, not the Phoenix, not Abraham, not the Buddha, not Jesus, nor Moses, not Mohammed, not Ghandi, YOU have to do the work yourself. If you expect someone to do your work for you, then they, not you will receive the benefit. Your selfishness causes you to suffer. If warmth is only the presence of heat, cold feels like a force, but it is paradoxically only the absence of heat.
I know that my wording is not all that coherent. I will be editing this statement because to get it accurate, and perfectly understandable, ("so clear that Ray Charles could see it" -Robert Howell) because i can see my explanation is lacking, and needs refinement.
The basic function of the universe (not its purpose) is a subject, object relationship of ebb, and flow. High pressure always gravitates to a lower pressure. Like a bleeding hemorrhoid ha ha
    .
"it is fortunate for governments that the people they administer do not think" -Adolf Hitler

While I understand where you're coming from, and agree to some extent, it must be pointed out that the Buddha teaches the existence of hell within the Pali Suttas. Do regard this as metaphor? Or do you not regard those suttas as canonical? Just curious.

    • @Kianquenseda

Be aware that the Buddha did not himself write most of the Sutta's (Sutra's). Men, some of them may not be translated properly, or understood correctly. It is better to seek guidance exactly as the Buddha did. Your internal Buddha. If we follow someone elses teachings we will be prone to misinterpret, simply because it is their experience, not our own. Meditate ! Repent for your interferences ! Resolve not to interfere again ! Meditate, be in love! Repeat

+Kalis Agea My interpretation of "hell" is not a physical place or anything like that, it's our own perpetuation of suffering, living in our suffering, and not knowing how we can escape it. Through the teachings, we can find our way out of suffering. Keep in mind, this is just my own perception of hell.
