      Bharat Arun is still the best bowling coach available in India. We were a strong bowling side under him. He should either be the bowling coach or work at the NCA with the young fast bowlers. We need to groom the likes of Mohsin Khan, Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav, Vaibhav Arora, Kuldeep Sen and also work on Umran Malik and Prasidh Krishna..This should be the priority of the BCCI along with grooming fast bowling all-rounders for Test cricket..

    Gambhir is not the right option as a coach of Indian cricket team. He has ego problems and little bit tempered. So he cannot balance the all things with seniors specially Rohit, Virat who played with him a few years ago. I think his political importance makes him motivated by BCCI to pick as the head coach of Indian cricket. But this is totally illogical I think. They must go for better options like Kumar Sangakara of Sri Lanka or VVS Laxman of India as the head coach of Indian cricket team. But they are just ruining Indian cricket by taking this kind of vulnerable decisions to pick Gambhir as head coach. This is not fair.

  • @nastybadger-tn4kl

    Coaching big team like india cant be handled by one person. It needs a director. not for all cricket in india . it need GM/Director of mens and womans international team. Ranji need its own director
    BCCI must spend some moola. Need to develop a structure in that you minimize role of coach to small minimum.
    Key for me is selectors. Now bcci pokes their nose in selection by appointing players from 4 zone. issue is not finding people from each zone. I get rid of selectors but apply zonal quota selection.
    Now why get rid of selectors? Its unknown variable you are adding to equation. Meaning you get variable output.
    You need to control the controllables. Selecting players and selecting pool of players. Its where people make money it seems
    One of the reason india lagging behind australia. India keep selecting unathletic players out of 1.4billion indians

    Appointing new coach will make no difference until the Captain and team structure are changed.
    There should be white ball and red ball specialists. There should be debate on exploring a bowling captain as well and consider developing express bowling specialists.
    Tje batting unit should be made to play atlesst 30% of their matches on challenging pitches and conditions too such as australia, south africa & england, rather than claiming comfort zone stats on flat belter IPL or domestic pitches.
    The coaching pannel (head coach, bowling coach, fielding coach) should have flexibility along with team mgmt and selectors to influence captain's decision making esp if deemed arbitrary.
    Performance reviews of central contracts should be basis recent performances and not archaic historical performances. More Credit should be given to performances in ICC world cups and performances in a winning cause esp in knock out matches of world cups. Stats and individual milestones should not be the only sekection criteria.
    With old timers Kohli and Rohit still in the team, it will be a nightmarish experience for Gambhir as a coach.
    Ravi & Dravid too have coached indian team for years, but in the leadership of Kohli and Rohit, have failed to get even a single ICC cup in any format for India since past 13 looong years, a shameful drought of wins at the world stage.

      The first step is seniors like Rohit, Virat, Jadeja voluntarily retiring from T20Is after this WC.
      Second is grooming young pacers under an apt bowling coach like Bharat Arun.
      Third is grooming a fast bowling all-rounder for Test cricket as well as white ball cricket..
      The fourth is implementing the Australian way of playing cricket by having a strong plan against each and every player of the opposition team with data analytics.
      If these 4 steps are seriously taken, India will soon win an ICC trophy. God also makes those win who are brave and do the hard yards.

    • @sgtaneja
      @sgtaneja 3 месяца назад

      @AyushRaj-rt6bb Few senior players in Indian cricket retire voluntarily. Many times, they have to be forced to do so.
      Developing a group of talented express seamers would make sense only when the pitches are also made conducive - grass tops, supporting bounc & pace, lateral movement, etc. So far Indian cricket has been a batters only game playing on dead, flat, belter wickets most of the time. So whenever the batters play in testing conditions, e.g., Perth, Brisbane, Cape Town, Lord's, etc, they struggle.
      As long as the benchmark for performance is going to be runs scored statistically on flat dead IPL wickets, Indian batters are going to struggle in overseas conditions including ICC world cups held overseas esp AUS, SA, ENG. India needs more bowlers like Bumrah who are accurate, consistent, have variations and create match winning impacts. India also needs a seam bowling Captain who can additionally focus on developing quality seam bowlers. Some examples of such bowlers in past and present have been Wasim Akram, Trent Bolt, Glen McGrath, Malcolm Marshall, Richard Hadlee, Mitchel Starc, James Anderson, Jasorit Bumrah etc. That is the benchmark- the benchmark should NOT be Siraj, Hardik, Avesh, Khaleel type of bowlers. Each seam bowler should be a match winning wicket taking bowler and myst have ability to bowl optimally on variety of surfaces, conditions, against bedt batters in the world (not just limited to IPL).

    • @AyushRaj-rt6bb
      @AyushRaj-rt6bb 3 месяца назад

      @@sgtaneja I think domestic cricket should have a variety of pitches. Green tops, Bouncy and pacy ones, turning tracks and some batting tracks as well..There should be balance between bat and ball.
      Right now most pitches in domestic cricket are green tops with so much grass covering. The bowler has to do nothing but deliver the ball on right length and pitch will do the job. It seams too much and the ball keeps low most of the times. Such pitches promote mediocre medium pacers who bowl 120-130 and take a lot of wickets. Also such pitches dent the confidence of young batters who look to score runs. Such pitches are really degrading the quality of domestic cricket in India..

    I don't think popular cricketers like Gambhir are interested for coaching job for Indian team. Throughout their career cricketers spent time away from family. If cricketers like Gambhir takes up coaching job for India then they can't spend time with their family. Retired cricketers have money why do they want to take up a difficult job and scarifies the time. For Gambhir time is more important then money or coaching job for India.
