    I also love and respect sport bikes with all my heart, i love a little adrenaline rush, but my soul doesn't belong there. Have a Suzuki MArauder 125. They are awesome and looks big compared to other 125's but the heavy frame makes them breathless at 50mph. You can go 60 if you are on a flat road... If you are stuck in the UK, dont put much into one and get yourself a full licence and buy a big fat one later.

    I'm a cruiser guy. I feel weird on a sports. I love the comfort, the low Bwraaap of the engine. The classic looks is what got me into them. I love timeless things. Speed and acceleration, don't attract me much... I like to ride for hous... ONly drawback is I live in the UK and I'm stuck on a 125 cruiser Suzuki Marauder with 12 horsepower until I can get my "full Big Bike licence". That's an extra £1000 man...

    Yo Yammie, back in the day (before you were born) I tried a 1982 Honda Magna. Good motor but the cruisish posture sucks. Have you heard the history of why cruisers sit feet first and sport bikes lean forward? It has zero to do with the efficacy of sport bike posture and everything to do with horse riding styles pre-motorcycle.

      +ZhongDe 95 Cruisers are real bikes. Just because they're not your preferred version of a motorcycle doesn't make them any less "real" or cool. ALL motorcycles are cool, fun and "real", depending on what type of riding you're into. A true motorcyclist knows this. Posers like you are nothing more than flash in the pan wannabes who ride one type of bike until it's no longer cool within your group of friends and then move on to the next hobby. Go back to riding the couch with your PS4 or XBox

    • @alessandrozhang8455
      @alessandrozhang8455 8 лет назад +7

      mmastert2 Goddamnit, cant make a friendly joke without upsetting atleast 1 person. I know that cruisers are "real" bikes, I rode one. Also, its more common for cruisers to ride in groups and pose in europe, then it is for Sport bike riders.

      The same, though I probably got a bad taste as the first cruiser I rode was a H-D Sportster 1200C, so had the pegs WAY out front. The torquey motor was nice, but the handling was vague as fuck and my hands were tingling after only about 5 minutes on the bike, and this was a newer rubber mounted motor.

    • @Skyerzen
      @Skyerzen 8 лет назад +5

      my first cruiser ride was a sportster 883 with the pegs directly under the seat. The seat was so low, the handlebars so far forward, that I was sitting in a squat. Very uncomfortable. The bike had no power and the pegs were huge and not sprung, so if you bumped them with your feet, they would not return back down... so annoying...
      the second was the big monstrous victory cruiser with the batwing up front. The thing was too damn heavy! Too heavy for old men with weak knees!
      The foot platforms were SOLID! that means if they scraped they wouldn't move... The feet were so forward, that it made me feel unstable riding slow together with the steering head being so far away, the handlebars swooped back making even the slightest steering adjustment be this huge arm movement. Not impressed...
      The third cruiser I rode was some HD dyna something or another. The power and torque was comparable to the FZ-09's but not as brutal. (even tho the fz-09 has a waaaaay waaaay smaller engine) This bike accelerated nicely, and even stopped nice too! but the stupid feet platforms... Even the least of inspired turns would make me scrape the damn things... and here's the worst part. I was taking a swooping turn at highway speeds, very minimal lean, when I hit a bump. I was bumped off the seat and because my feet were not located anywhere under my center of gravity, my butt landed off the seat. I had to pull myself from the handlebars to get back on the bike...
      And to top it all off... it somehow melted my boot...
      This year I'm going to the LongBeach motorcycle demo show and try every cruiser I can get my hands on... I'm going to pick them to pieces... I will first want to demo ride the FZ-10 tho.... :D

    • @charlieross-BRM
      @charlieross-BRM 8 лет назад +3

      I liken it to personal choice in other activities like horse back riding or canoeing. Some people like an English saddle that is small and light and requires constant good riding position. Others like a big heavy western saddle where it's OK to just plop your self in that big chunk of leather and cruise the land. In canoes I can never sit up on the seat. I feel unbalanced with no bracing or control, so I always kneel and spread my knees out to grip the hull when I want to get moving for real, even though at my age my ankles go numb - the price to pay.
      So cruisers make me feel less in control than a sport bike position. Like sitting in a patio lounge chair.
      All the weight is on the seat too so that initial feeling of comfort comes at a price of developing lower back problems because you can't distribute the weight to the tank or the feet.

    AH HAAAAAAAH! "It is so comfortable..." But seriously you need to ride a GOOD modern cruiser. The Star bikes are bulletproof but terrible examples for a a rider like you. Better suspension, better breaks, better handling it's all there with the comfort. You need to get your hands on a Dyna or Scout ASAP!

    • @knerdrider
      @knerdrider 8 лет назад +1

      Even a good suspension can help. My 'Shadow ACE has a Progressive Suspension and is both more comfortable and better handling than my Honda PC800 (except for cornering speed, of course, since the cruiser can't lean as far). The opposite should be true!

    • @mrvwbug4423
      @mrvwbug4423 8 лет назад

      Scouts have terrible suspension, Dyna might be ok they tend to be the least bad handling of the non V-Rod H-Ds, though H-D brakes tend to universally suck. Maybe try something like a Vulcan 900 or if you can find one a Yamaha Warrior.

    If African-American can be called a race, why is American considered a nationality? Also wondering what makes a bike American?

      Because for some reason, "USAian" doesn't sound great.

      African- American refers to People, a specific people.
      "American" refers to the conglomerate in the "melting pot".
      .
      American bikes were mostly V-Twins for many decades.

      It's considered american because it's mostly popular in the states, firstly made in the states, and the bike itself might not be american but was modeled after an American bike.

    The comfort is why I got a cruiser as my first bike this year. Low end power and it is just for fun to ride for me than a sport bike.

    I mean... it’s a *Cruiser* there guy. LOL!
    Oh! And if some of you out there aren’t familiar with the DFW area, but you’ve heard of Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina... DFW is about a thousand times worse. For example: instead of spans of what seems to be woodland between the most metro portions of RDH, in DFW it’s just lightly less metro, but still urban. It eats your soul (and suspension) as you drive through it. Wicked cool bridges, though!

    While a sportbike is supposed to be slowed using both brakes, but most powerful comes from the front, cruisers are different. You can main the back brakes

    My dad has the 650 of this bike. I practically grew up on this bike. I have so much love for cruisers because of this.

    Nah, you need to try out a Triumph Rocket III Roadster. All the face-melting torque you can ever dream of with the acceleration of a sportbike, and the insurance cost of a cruiser. It contains the largest production engine - 2294cc.

    It’s odd to see cities without heavy traffic because I’ve only ever lived in rural areas and all the movies and tv show city traffic as absolute hell

    I've always been a cruiser guy but I appreciate what a sport bike is and what it can be used for. I ride a 1987 Yamaha virago 1100 it's the predecessor to this bike and I love that bike it's awesome and it gets up and goes it's quick

    I had a VStar 1100 Custom. If you think that bike is comfortable, you should try a Road King. More power too. I'm on a 1200 Sportster now. It's a nice balance between comfortable and handling.
