    Very nice sleds. When those were new i wouldnt take them seriously. Too nose heavy and noisey. I was always a big bore 2 cylinder guy. Mxz 670, 700 etc. In hingsight i would kill for one of your sleds now. So much more to them than i used to think. This video is fun for me because im a ski doo man all the way bit im a closet cat guy too. Thnx for sharing uour hard work!

      Yes we started out as twin guys also but got tired of wearing out clutches and drive line parts when the triples came out we switched and never looked back. We can not seem to wear them out. Funny how the magazines use to complain about the weight of the triples but they say nothing about these new huge top heavy snowmobiles, ours parked next to them look like 3/4 scale sleds.

    Awesome collection Jason!
    I'm just venturing into CK3 territory with my latest purchase this summer, a 99 Z with Crankshop pipes. But mine isn't all nice like any of your sleds.
    Apparently it has 98 engine and wiring. I put in a mechanical reverse chaincase .
    I have some questions that you might be able to help with:
    1. Temp gauge isn't working, common thing? I've googled but didn't find much.
    2. Shock recommendation? I have shot HPG's that i think isn't rebuildable. Are there other options from like "early 2000 Ski-doo MXZ's? Much more common here in Sweden where I live.
    3. Noticed most of the clutches are out for "summerizing". Is that a thing on these?
    Thanks in advance and greetings from Sweden! Looking forward to more videos!

    • @jasonpalka9060
      @jasonpalka9060  10 месяцев назад +1

      temp gauge not working is not a common problem but we did have one go bad after overheating, also check for a broken wire by sender. shocks mxzs have longer shocks, take yours off and measure between eyelets 99-03 should be 15 1/2" we run ours like the 98 16 1/2" for trail riding. we pull the clutches apart after each season to clean clutches and relax the springs. thanks so much, jason.

      @@jasonpalka9060 Many thanks Jason 👍
      Why the chaincase mod then? Common for them to granade or are you just hunting kilograms?

    So, unless it’s an illusion, it appears you trimmed off the upper “lip” of most windshields or are they aftermarket inserts?
    Also, can these tinted windshields be wet sanded or polished to remove minor smudges, dulled out spots and scratches? If so, what method would you recommend for best results?
    Thanks

    • @jasonpalka9060
      @jasonpalka9060  8 месяцев назад

      yes they are trimmed down factory windshields. we have had success polishing out minor scuffs and blemishes. none of or scratches required wet sanding but i do not see why you could not do it, just make sure you finish off with 2000 grit. we will buff them with a wool pad and heavier compound and work your way down to a foam pad and finer swirl remover polish.

    Very curious about the electric water pump mod!!! Any info or direction to gather info would be amazing. I assume its as straight forward as installing as aftermarket one on a hot rod but still figured Id ask

    • @jasonpalka9060
      @jasonpalka9060  8 месяцев назад

      it is quite involved as you have to remove the factory pump and all its workings and i added a dedenbear electric pump. i added a lithium battery with all the wiring, switches, and charging system of an electric start mach z. make sure you do not forget to turn it on, i put a light up by the gauges so you can see when it is working.

      our sleds are really never started in cold weather after sitting outside, they are pulled into a heated garage every night. i am sure they would also be hard to start if they sat out all night. try to keep the engine warm if this is your case (engine heater or electric blanket)
