- Parents Of Greta Van Fleet - Karen and Papa Kiszka. Josh GVF, Jake GVF, and Sam GVF are brothers and we sat down with their parents for this exclusive interview. Listen to their journey from the beginning. Early inspirations and teachers that made a difference. How drummer Danny came into the picture and why they love him so much. I saw Papa Kiszka blush a little when Melissa told them, "Without you, we wouldn't have Greta Van Fleet, we wouldn't have Monday Night Blues." And Karen getting teary-eyed and proud over her boys. ❤
These are some AMAZING parents! GVF came to be from just a perfect storm of circumstances, sounds like they had/have a wonderful group of people around them and thankfully the world gets to experience their gifts!! 💜💜💜💜

Aunt Mel you have no idea how insightful and valuable this is for people that admire the boys and for artists that are inspired by them!!! I have learned so much and been so challenged by everything this boys do and represent. (Also I just realised sammy makes the SAME facial expressions as papa kiszka🥺🥺🥺)

ngl this interview made me cry seeing parents so willing to drive their kids to places they want to be and are open to options. inspired me to at least try to pick up guitar again, thank you so much Mrs and Mr Kiszka

I love this band! The boys are so talented and well-spoken. But as a 47 year old Midwestern mom, I love these PARENTS!! My 15 year old has been acting since age 3. That and drawing are the only things she loves. She’s so smart and gifted but lousy at school. Especially with covid and remote learning. It’s been so hard and her programs aren’t able to meet. The theaters are closed. College applications are looming and I’m like, is it even worth it now? But she’s so talented. She got accepted to Interlochen camp which was canceled this past summer. Major, major bummer. Sorry went off on a tangent into the internet void there for a minute. I just am so thankful this video exists. That there are other parents in the world who have dealt with raising talented kids and the struggles of trying to help them make their dream come true while also worrying endlessly about their future. It lets me know I’m not alone. Thank you Melissa!

Your sons are magnificent. I justaryed listening to them last week. I found themm on u tibe. I love them all . I love joshes voice when he sings. Jake was homonizing on a song with his brother. I have been listening to you karen an Laurie talk about your sons when you were giving an interview. Loved listening to you talk about when they were growing up. You are so funny karen i found myself laughing right along with all three of you. The part about when the boys were little an uou were yelling. Thanks for the laughs. I love Papa's description of the blues, not only the flat 5 note, but I like to do the trilling of the minor 3rd to the major 3rd, along with a mix of the dorian scale and the mixolydian scale , so with all of that, the basic minor pentatonic, adding the b5, and trilling the minor 3rd with the major 3rd, and adding some dorian/mixolydian , all in a 5 second time frame, gotta love the blues

@@swisscheeseplease97 Not really sausage, but similar in shape. The popular Polish name for this delicious, traditional food is kaszanka. I am sure, there is no shortage of this stuff in Michigan`s Polish owned stores.

@@SimsGirl4Ever Look up a recent video , where josh is on the couch with Daniel. Jake is on the other one and a naked girl on another one. You can see that they are on some kind of trip. Jake falls face first onto the floor. The girl is clearly tripping.
Also they are constantly itching and rubbing their nose.
Hey Karen, when I was in 2nd grade, & I was born in 1958, I BEGGED my parents for piano lessons. And they said NO. Next was drums & it's been like that till now, since I was told byv2 friends to pick up the bass & they said 'DAMN!!!' So then they bought me a bass & amp. I just turned 65.
