Why do people keep saying 'old BSE'? Did one of the members leave or what? This sounds like some classic BSE imo, and I've been listening to them for more than a decade.
I don't think it's so much a change in style, it feels unpolished and needs work.
tbh this song sounds dope idk what people are talking about, could be a bit more refined but they just kept it a bit more raw i think
That's the thing, it's not that raw, at least to me. A solid track for a mix, but the pre build is just so meh
I can hear the "old BSE" sound in the melody, but I agree that their solo tracks now are generally (including this) weaker, less dynamic, less deep. I started listening to them in 2002 and when I compare tracks like Arrakis, Breach, and Unicorn MF Remix I can't help hear the gulf in power and be dissappointed. All those mentioned became personal favourites on first listen. Now I can't think of a recent favourite (say, last 7-8 years) that isn't a collab. Just my opinion and take on it all
Kratos OfSparta, your first statement is very true. But it's a tradeoff because of the loudness - the mixdown needs to be simplified in certain areas to avoid problems at this compression level. More complexity leaves room for more (noticeable) errors.

Fuck the haters lol. Old BSE is legendary but this is great too. If I heard this I could guess it was BSE cause it still has that BSE feel.

imo the old bse is better too, but a good producer goes with the flow and isnt scared too experiment otherwise the music goes stale and unoriginal
From the Shadows era was the best IMO. Until the World Ends was a great EP tho.

These 2 new EPs are the only BSE work i've not purchased. While this track does alright, it does feel lackluster. Their style is there, but the drop is so casual and predictable, it just feels like it's missing something. Maybe it's the less aggressive drums and lack of darkness
