Lovely. I walk along that part of the canal several times a week. ‘That’ patch of claggy mud brings every cyclist to grief. 😀

Glad to hear Mike and I were not alone! Apart from that.. it is a very lovely part of the world.

Another great getaway from our dreary week. Glad you did not fall in the Canal. Miss Rufus and Mabel. Hopefully 2021 will allow us all to get back outside and traveling.

I hope so too! (hopefully, Rufus and Mabel will be back with us soon. They're enjoying time at home being lazy at the moment.)

Another great video. I love hiking, being near water, biking, and your delightful personality. Thanks for helping me stay sane while I care for my dad and dodge this nasty virus.

Stan, after almost two decades on the internet, your canal videos are the first thing to ever make me write a comment on RUclips! They are hypnotizing, mesmerizing and profoundly calming. Bravo! Also, thanks for the music from way back when -- I 've been breaking out "London 0 Hull 4" about once a month since 1989! In one of your future videos, could you go a bit into the history of English canals? They seem so very narrow that I can't imagine them having been of much use for cargo, but of course I could be wrong. Why does the UK still spend money maintaining them -- do they have some strategic use? Is this recreational narrowboating a relatively new thing? And why are there so many boats on the canal, anyway? I didn't know what a narrowboat was three days ago, and now I'm intrigued! Pity I'm in South America, or I'd check them out!

Hey, thanks for the kind words. I feel honoured to be involved with the first thing online that has inspired you to write a comment. As for the canals... You ask some great questions. I will try to work out how to answer them - your idea for a video - "brief history of the canals," is an excellent one. Let me think about it .... (Also, have you subscribed yet? always nice to have lovely folk onboard!) cheers Stan

@@StansHappyHour Subscribed last night! Thanks so much for the answer. I can't wait for the next videos, since I've plowed through all the old ones in no time at all! Such an intriguing world you're sharing with us. Best wishes!

Two things to note from this awesome vlog...
Firstly, you could say trying the technique to record from Mikes bike you were Winging It! ;)
Secondly, reference the bench plaques a good mate of mine always says on someones gravestone (or bench!) it gives the date of birth and the date of death, with a small 'dash' inbetween.... And the only thing that matters is what they did with the 'dash'.... And that is a bit deep and meaningful for me!
But it is a point to ponder... lets all enjoy our 'dash'

Both very good points. First is very true. Second is definitely deep and meaningful... Like it.

Does make us think about what to do with the 'dash'... 🤔

Lovely bike ride, without the mud of course! Yes, the camera was a bit jiggly, but you guys will figure it out, I am sure! Enjoy your coffee!

Hi Stan, been waiting all day for my Friday treat. Thanks, only watched half so far, leave the last bit till bedtime. Maybe my comment a few weeks ago about cycling from Sharpness to Frampton was in your mind. Brilliant as always. Steve Williamson
