  • Pirmin Zurbriggen interview at Gran Becca ski slope Zermatt Cervinia alpine skiing world cup. The presentation of the new downhill ski course that will start in November 2023 / 2024 season of the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. Eropean cup will also be held on this slope for both, women's and men's competitions. It's the highest start of and Alpine Skiing race in the alps Europe, just short of 4000 metres of alptitude. The downhill course is about 4 Kilometres long and racers will take around 2 minutes and 20 seconds to get to the finish line, depending on the way that the course will be set. It's a very complete course, including some steep and technical sections, some gliding sections and several jumps along the way. The finish line is by the " Cime Bianche laghi " cablecar's top station, which is located at about 2900 metres of altitude in the Italian side, ski resort of Cervinia Ski Paradise. It is also the first race and ski course that crossed borders, going from Zermatt which is in Switzerland, across to Cervinia, which is in Italy. Both resorts share the same mountain peak which, on the Italian side, is called the Monte Cervino ( "Gran Becca" is also another way of calling it ), and from the Swiss side,, it's called the Matterhorn and it's probably the most known shape, made popular by a loved chocolate brand.
It's been a pleasure to have met Pirmin Zurbriggen, one of the greatest alpine skier of all times, which is the ambassador of this new downhill ski slope and of all the race events that will be held on it in the future.
