    I think this is a really nice sweet spot between shorts and raw longer one. I was also shocked how easy it is to maintain abs strength. This a much needed message in the clickbait era of what you need to do everyday to get killer abs.

    • @battokizu
      @battokizu 8 месяцев назад +9

      Killer abs should be about the form and function, not about the appearance of those muscles. I know I can feel a good set of abs growing but I have too much body fat for them to appear. But I do have strength and flexibility.

    • @fcafa
      @fcafa 8 месяцев назад +1

      Visible abs are still made in the kitchen and working them out makes them pop more. A lot of people tend to overthink it. If you lose a bunch of fat your chest doesnt just grow automatically and you still have to workout chest. Abs are the same way. You can be low fat with a small chest too and you can be low fat with barely any abs showing. Its best to treat them like any other muscle. As soon as I started doing weighted abs workouts instead of just body movement abs workouts my abs quickly improved and almost all of my lifts did too because I developed a lot more core strength which is activated in most things we do when it comes to lifting to assist a little extra.

    • @clorofolle
      @clorofolle 8 месяцев назад +5

      Yes!! I used to have basically 0 core strength and was starting to suffer from back pain from it. Did some physio and exercise. My partner has one of those pull up bars and I'd try hanging from it for a few secs.
      Hardest thing was to get from 0 to 1. When you're SO weak even the easiest of exercises can hurt.
      Once I hit that 1 - I was surprised by how well I retained it and even got better, even without exercise. I can feel my core engaging when I walk, run, sit. No more back pain and each time I am faced with the pull up bar I can do something a bit better on it.
      Abs are awesome. They're literally our *core*. We use them for all sorts of stuff. I can't wait to get stronger :)

    I was an athlete in my youth, winning contests and training for the olympic games. Then I gained 100kg in one year during my parents divorce. I was still able to do cartwheels and splits and stuff at 160kgs. It took 15 years to loose all the muscles and flexibility I built up as a teen. Muscles you have last for a very long time. Sadly I never got back into training and now I can barely even run. But my muscles helped me to stay mobile for a long time.

    Although it is possible that someone may just have their abs defined because they are very skinny, it’s almost always the case that if your abs are showing, you have USABLE abs. There’s no real distinction between visible and usable abs, although not all “functional” abs (abs that just don’t show but still exist) show, but that’s a meaningless distinction

    There's some incorrect information in this video. The compression exercises you suggest make use of the rectus abdominus, which is a vertical muscle covering your abdomen. Stomach vacuums make use of the transverse abdominus, which is a muscle that goes *horizontally* around your entire waist. It's commonly called the girdle muscle because you use it to shrink your waist when you suck in.
    As such, getting better at the compression exercises you recommend will have no direct impact on your ability to do a stomach vacuum, and getting better at the stomach vacuum will not help with compression exercises - in fact, focusing on keeping your stomach from pouching out by engaging the transverse abdominus will make compression exercises harder.

    • @nbucwa6621
      @nbucwa6621 8 месяцев назад

      So are you saying I shouldn't "zip up" (contract and hold the stomach muscle) during this exercise or does that involve a different muscle? I see "zipping up" your core be given often as advice on how to perform these kids of exercises often.

    You deff have the abs to vacuum. Most people try to suck air in while pulling in your stomach. This doesn't work (at least not for me). You want to push all of the air out and then try pulling in your abs. It's a rather odd sensation and you may end up making some stange noises in the process, but I assure you it works.

    Let's be honest, Eddie Hall probably had a liposuction on his abdomen. His core is like 8% body fat while his chest, arms and face are more like 25 or 30%. There is no freaking way that that is genetics or because of the size of his ab muscles. Having big ab muscles doesn't suddenly bring down your abdomens body fat % by 20%.

      What kind of idiotic comment is this? Why make a person self conscious and insecure for no reason?

    Bro l can easily touch the ground with my pinky finger without bending my knees, but l am not able to even raise my legs above my waist without bending my knees. Moreover, l am not able to do L-sit just because my knees don't straighten up. They just bend automatically. Please tell me, what should l do?
    Waiting for a reply!

    Dear lord, looks only a bit toned, has the strength and flexibility of a cirque performer (which I guess, now thinking about it, also are rather compact).

    Showing again that strength and flexibility are not mutually exclusive.
