Pro democracy have won more than 200 seats from Pro Beijing parties. 1 seat is worth 100 million per year. Each politician stays in their seat for 4 years. This means that Beijing will lose more than 1 trillion Hong Kong Dollars as they pay Anti Beijing politicians. Financially, Beijing has lost.

Nayan Mipun. China without the US dollars is nothing but a paper tiger. Already tens of thousands are without jobs in China - because, USA is not buying and has stopped all Imports by 100% tariffs. Trump has warned Xi not to invade HK, or total sanction. There you have it. China cannot sell to other countries goods. Why, nobody has US dollars to import. Without US dollars China CCP is a beggar party.

America tells all banks in the world not to sell US dollars to China. Plain and simple. China wants to sell only in Dollars. US dollars are own by America. This Victor gao analyst is here to defend Beijing and dilute the landslide victory by Democrats. Beijing plans to make it look like they have expected it and it is not a big deal(but with democrats increasing their seat count by more than 200, it is).
He also kept saying that Hong kong is part of china. Beijing has said this too. In their view, protesters final aim is to make Hong kong an independent country but it is not. The final aim is universal suffrage etc. Independence is not the aim of protesters.

Question: Pro-Democracy, ANTI-Beijing candidates won 17 of 18 districts, does this mean that the people of HK are rejecting Beijing's policies?
Answer: No, the important thing is to end violence in HK.
Question: Again, Pro-Beijing candidates lost all districts except 1, this was an election with record level participation. Does it mean that most of HK people are not happy with Beijing?
Answer: No. Everybody knows HK is part of China.
Question: Is it possible that HK people don't enjoy tear gas with their morning coffee as they used to and they might ask Beijing to chill out and maybe use tear gas after 11am?
Answer: No. In a democracy everybody is free to love Beijing. And even if you don't, Beijing will love you to death.

In 2047 (if not before) the Communist Chinese will be coming over the Hong Kong border and will begin to crack down on any freedoms the people of Kong Kong have now. There is no way the Communists would ever allow Hong Kong to become some kind of separate territory with the freedoms that these students want. Hint: If China changes from Communism dictatorship to Democracy like Singapore then Hong Kong, Taiwan, Tibet will join voluntarily to become One China Democracy, that mean supreme leaders have only 4 years term like the Presidents of The United State.

Why does this guy not acknowledge that their was peaceful protests before the violence broke out and the government had real issues that the people wanted addressed, that they did not. The HK SAR are incompetent to lead the HK people into the future...that is why the people rose up to make demands. The HK SAR have a legal duty and obligation to serve the HK people.

The Chief Executive of HKSAR (regardless of being elected by a 1200 Election Committee members or by universal suffrage) together with the members in the Executive and in the Legislative bodies must pledge allegiance to the Basic Law as well as to uphold the basic policies of China regarding HK (as spelt out specifically in the Sino-British Joint Declaration 1984)....
Now that the election was over and it's the time for the pro-democracy councillors to work hard to improve the daily lives of the residents of HKSAR ....
I hope they don't misread this election success to mean more violent protests and riots daily on the streets of HK (for the remaining 28 years before YR 2047)。

That we have somehow become accustomed to other countries meddling I mean if Hong Kong was another country then I would accept this political mind game but Hong Kong is China’s territory wether they want it or not and people reacting the way they are seems utterly undiplomatic to me but well whatever, emotions over logic I suppose

Democracy is a good idea, but it's too soon to tell (Chou en Lai).
It's not the done deal so let us be open to other systems instead of demonising. Believe it's not one size fits all although rigidly binds itself to this delusion.
There is space for everyone only US especially does not think so. It's my way or the highway.
