I was like 18 and thanks to free dental in New Zealand they just didn’t care and ripped that sucker out. No cutting to make it easy, I’m fact they pulled and pulled which hurt so I got more shots.. more pulling, more pain, more shots… then they asked me to pull as they pulled till I heard a snap. I had to wait years before the bones were not sharp and I could eat without cutting back through the newly formed gums. Nearly made me a drug addict due to trying to chase pain relief in any form. Glad I have a good life now.. kinda also glad I went through it so I can prevent people I love from going through the same
I've seen a lot of dentists over the years living in New Zealand and this happens so much. I had a dentist tell me at 6 years old that having my tooth pulled out prematurely wouldn't hurt because I didn't have "adult nerves", I got no pain relief and I'm still terrified of dentists to this day
@@michiganlineman357 unfortunately that’s what you get in countries with free healthcare. Basically my family was poor and uneducated atop of that. No one helped me to make any kind of decision that would have led to a better outcome than that and no other option was available. @@RJ-mk6ep its weird to me that they treated me like that tbh. Like I said I was always poor, so I grew up in low decile schools.. but the dentistry in those schools were top notch! When I moved far far away I had the same top notch dentistry.. then when I was not 18 they legit treated me like nothing… until I had heath insurance. That’s New Zealand for you
Damn man that’s wild, here it costs me $600 per tooth and only takes them about 5 minutes after the numbing kicks in. Not many bone spurs but they didn’t pack the jaw bone, which I don’t know if it’s necessary for wisdom teeth
Unfortunately some people can't afford the bone transplant in order to get an implant. I had a root canal that went bad and my tooth had to be completely removed only about two years later. Unfortunately I couldn't afford the bone implant because I just paid thousands of dollars for the root canal a couple years prior. The dentist that did the bad root canal refused to refund me. The dentist that pulled the bad tooth said that the dentist who did the root canal did a bad job and missed some of the roots.
Root canals don't last, it's a waste of money, it's an expensive temporary fix for the inevitable 100% of the time. Don't waste you money on root canals
Dentists throwing other dentists under the bus is so tacky and unprofessional. It's easy to judge when you have no idea of the circumstances surrounding the procedure.
This is good to know cuz I’ve got a tooth that is going to be an implant soon. I feel much better about the cost knowing the work that will go into it. And I don’t have dental insurance so…
Last night, I had a dream that my teeth were rotting out and I was just picking them out. No blood. Just pain. Went to the dentist and he’s said “nah you’re good. We’ll get some braces on those to pull in the gaps”. He did not offer this option.
I just recently got another filling🙄 apparently I am prone to cavities. My bf never had one in his life. My dentist said I should be glad that I had pain, otherwise he never would have seen the cavity as it was basically undetectable. I had all my fillings due to me telling the dentist I'm in pain🤷♀️ So I am always amazed how people go on having rotten teeth without realizing it.
My husband too! I thought "he doesn't brush enough!" but the nurse actually told me people can be "prone" to cavities and teeth just breaking out of the blue. I'm sorry you're experiencing that!
Having good genetics makes your teeth better than a lot of people as well. Some people gets take cares of their teeth and still get problems, and some can basically neglect them to a certain degree, and nothing will happen. But this is way out of our control, so just take care of your teeths 😁
Hey Ben tidy. I don’t know if you have or not, but can you make a vid about anterior open bites being fixed with braces and extractions?? Love the vids by the way😊

I remember once when I was pulling out a baby tooth I couldn't pull it out like it was stuck to something and I basically sat there for the entire day just twisting my tooth in circles trying to get whatever was holding it on my gums to break. Funny part didn't hurt at all and was kinda funny to watch my friends freak out when I started to twist my entire tooth in circles XD in the end I was able to pop it out by Loosening it to the point where I was able to hook my finger on the part of the tooth that's normally connected to the gums and tug it out that way. Still confused to this day you have any explanations? I also have a tooth that I've lost twice if you have an explanation for that one. It also was a flat tooth before and it grew back in pointy. My mouth confuses me.
I had a pretty bad cavitie on one of my teeth in the back. They didn't numb me and that tooth was an adult tooth and they just pulled and pulled got it out went home with a sore mouth for a week
I had 3 teeth pulled in the last year, and they put a metal thing around my tooth, tightened it, connecting something that felt like a wrench, and just kept pulling hard until my tooth cracked out of the jaw and came out. They didn't put anything in it after, but they sewed it.
Hi Bentist! I have a question about something I'm a little confused about. So, I'm not sure if I have tonsil stones, but what I have, are little yellowish things that make me want to vomit as they come out. I usually have to spit them in my hand and throw it away or something. They're also kinda soft, and they smell disgusting. Could you please tell me what they are?😅
@@sinchansings not really. No pain, no issues, it’s just kind of annoying to have that space there because food gets stuck sometimes, I was expecting my teeth to move naturally but they never did.
Hey bentist another great vid. Just wondering when u mentioned about filling the hole with granulated bone that forms real bone eventually, is there such a thing for tooth fillings and tooth bonding that eventually forms real tooth enamel material (calcium phosphate right). Just wondering cause I need to get some bonding done on my front teeth but I’ve heard people say it’s weaker then real enamel and you can’t say chew apples on it for instance?
