Thanks for nice videos...😊Could you please also use metric system, celsius, and chemical formulas on screen, it would make it much more easy to follow,....😊
Having the towers drain into grow beds with hydroton and growing those heavy root crops in the Hydroton is what I’ve done before and works well
Great to hear. Thanks for your comments Nic!
Have you guys ever tested out a “compost tea” based solution for these towers?
Yes absolutely. you can read a blog here with a RUclips video included. It's an older Blog but the content is still relevant- blog.zipgrow.com/how-to-make-compost-tea/
I am interested in starting a small-scale unit and have two questions about the plumbing.
I was curious about the different types of PVC piping (UPVC, CPVC) and was wondering about your experience and recommendations considering the food safety of the different types of PVC piping. Or is there any other type of piping you would recommend?
I was also wondering about the safety of using PVC glue to connect the pipes. Are there any you would recommend that would be food safe?
Thank you.
Hi, UPVC (Rigid PVC) is food safe and fine to use in any of these sort of setups. The cement used to make connections, however, is not, and should be used carefully and sparingly so as to avoid direct contact with whatever the pipe is transporting.
@@ZipGrowInc Thank you for your response. I appreciate it.
How did you start ZipGrow and how did you grow as a company?
Great question. In short, the ZipGrow Tower was invented by Dr.Nate Story, you will see him on many of our older RUclips videos back in the Bright Agrotech days. Fast forward a few years and ZipGrow now owns the patent to the ZipGrow Tower which is still used by home growers and modern day farmers all around the world. Our engineer team has made some adjustments and advancements to the LED lighting and plumbing over the years but the Tower in it's truest form still remains the core product of our systems. We have since developed some new commercial and home/office use systems with the Tower including the ZipGarden and Commercial bundles. We are always growing!
@@ZipGrowInc Thank you for the detailed response. Love the content and I hope the company grows in the coming years. How did you get the capital to run the business and or funding from private investors? Debt?
