- The famous "Water Scene" from the movie "The Miracle Worker" year - 1962. Starring Patty Duke and Anne Bancroft. In this scene, Helen Keller's teacher Anne Sullivan spells the word "Water" into Helen's hand, and Helen realizes that words have a meaning. As Helen touches different objects, Anne continues to spell the words for the objects into Helen's hand. At the end of the scene Helen points to Anne Sullivan and Anne spells the word "Teacher" into Helen's Hand. - Enjoy!
I cry each time im seeing this scene..It doesnt miss to give me tears..So powerful .Such a miracle thanks to Ann s perseverance and love ❤Helen is born again that Day.. so precious ❤❤ thanks.

I can't even imagine the obstacles she had to overcome. I can't even walk around my house at night without stubbing my toe😂😂😂. What an amazing lady she was.
She learnt to feel the obstacles around her..Helen became deafblinded at 19 months old..and at first she fell on the ground and Hurt herself probably but through the years she learnt to walk and feel a wall , à wardrobe...etc..

@@IamHelenKeller As a blind person myself, I used to do everything like that I used to bump into walls and everything, and would always break stuff but I didn't care because I was a baby, I would always play with my toys even though I didn't know what they look like, I just know every time I push a button down a sound would come out of it, and the cutest thing ever that I would always try to do, was look into the light bulbs to try and see if I can see the light, I was a curious baby then. ❤❤❤

How could I ever forget this movie and this powerful scene!!! Very emotional!!! Two such incredible actors!!! Patty Duke also endured a lot in her life and gave so much through her talent as an actress from such a young age!!!! This scene has stayed with me!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!

I have seen this movie, it is quite a powerful drama about Helen Keller life,Patty Duke plays a brilliant actress, along with Anne Bancroft both have passed on, leaving us with this movie, that shows their acting skills, as superb this movie was done with such class..

This movie is just amazing. The acting and scene 🎬 play couldn't be better to this day. What a beautiful message. The water pump scene at the beginning looks like the pump handle actually comes into contact with the actor. I wonder if it was planned or happened, either way she just kept going and acting beautifully. 💯💯💐💐

This has to be one of the most iconic moments in the life story of Helen Keller (as well as in the history of deaf-blind education), showing the beginning of her journey to communication and education, as she began to understand that objects and ideas could be represented by language.
We see what an impact dedicated teachers and mentors can have on the lives of their students. Truly inspirational! I love this scene, impeccable acting skills and full of emotions. 🥹

*This was the break thru moment in this recreation & adapted for the film for Helen Keller & Ann Sullivan. This is the only movie 'The Miracle Worker' of Helen Keller that I always watch. But the saddest part of all this, was how Anna Marie (Patty) Duke-Pearce was so badly treated by her career's the 'Rosses' during the making of this movie... to just get her to completely act deaf & blind. But thru out Patty's life she never forgot how to finger sign. 🙂nz*

I heard about this movie, a long time ago. And. Everyone heard of Helen Keller. Her story not for everyone and people need to be in certain place, wanna see a scene like this. It pretty awesome. Spiritual seeker want vision into reality from guru, who have 'secret' life, doing dubious thing. What they want is this 3 minute, play out in they life. This a total, functionial recreation of possible most tremendous spirfitual experience of all time. I heard about something like this in olden times, with Zen master, Gui Shan, and his student, Yang Shan. But yang shan have eyes and see. This from 9th century. Helen Keller pretty cool. Teacher pobably have no one she wanna teach, then she meet Keller. Also. This scene have likeness to great Zen Master, who teach obnoxious zen student 'satori' by dragging him into the kitchen and chop off his finger with knife, when studently repeatedly mimic the master's 'one finger' enlightenment.
