There was a good long string where I was like "oooh, ahhh" people are usually reaching for the whole "aged like milk thing". But thay was unfortunate, and it just got worse over like a minute
So, since the recent comments are all "Lol didnt age well", I'm instead going to admire the immense salt and shade thrown between Gav and Jack this whole episode. Sassy Jack was primo Jack.
I don't know how anyone could watch AH without loving all these guys. They all have such funny and endearing qualities and I can't imagine hating them.

I think after a point Gavin just kept arguing about it because he knew it was more entertaining than letting it go.
Gavin's the team fool and knows it, and Jack's his agressive straightman. It's comedy gold.
I don't see how people say Gavin gets so "pissy" when people troll him. When they put stuff around his hole he laughed and joked about it, when Ryan was locking him in the ground he laughed and joked about it. I get that ya'll just think it's the "cool" "rebellious" thing to not like Gavin cause most people do but don't make false things up.

While Gavin IS in the wrong here, Jack DOES have a tendency to overreact and take things personally. I like him, but he should learn to laugh it off once in a while. Gavin's gotten pretty good at that.

Jack and Gavin weren't the ones that annoyed me in this Let's Play like most people apparently, the one who annoyed me the most was Micheal. He was kind of douche to Jack mainly, unnecessarily so. And yeah Jack can be annoying at times but there's really no need for Micheal to act that way.

rain can only happen after two days of weather in minecraft. When you sleep, the weather system resets, and so it it impossible for it to rain for the next 2 full days after you sleep. After sleeping it can take up to ten days for it to rain, and a minimum of 2.

Look, at the end of the day, these guys don't go home crying or bitching because they got cheated. They're too smart to give a fuck about that. They play these games for the entertainment of everyone who cares to watch. I'm not trying to tell anyone how they have to behave on here, but I'd like to think that in a peaceful way this might cause some people to stop being angered or frustrated or call each other out on their opinions because some one broke the rules in a game where winning isn't the actual point. The games don't matter. The fun does. There is nothing to hate unless YOU imagine a reason too. Not intended for those who simply don't like the specific Let's Play.

1) Jack griefing Gavin
2) Ryan being creepy
3) Ray being...well Ray

Historically, Gavin's most often been the one to come up with practical adjustments that help to balance or streamline Let's Plays, which is why it's so uncharacteristic of him to be so incensed over such an arbitrary issue. As long as the use of extra tools is restricted to extraneous game elements (namely, anything other than creepers/opponents), it doesn't at all compromise the Let's Play itself. To this day, I'm taken aback by how fervent he was about something so immaterial.
Still fuckin' funny to hear Ray---and Michael, of all people---making impartial commentary on Gavin's confrontation with Jack.
SteadyNeurosion I think Gavin thinks in the mindset of creating for the audience. I.E it more fun to watch them dying to monsters while trying to accomplish the goal. I can understand seeing as they did put it on hard. I mean you don't see the camera switching to people dealing with monsters when they have swords. however I do understand it's not that big a deal. I just see what he might be thinking.
+Jarrit Saal Y'know, I inferred as much when Gavin retorted that "the danger is out there", but I still found myself surprised. Noble though his intentions surely are, his vehemence seems so disproportionate to the practicality of the policy he's trying to impose.
They're playing on Hard by necessity (to maximize creeper spawns), and a profusion of other hostiles is therefore unavoidable; Gavin, ever the opportunist, sought to take advantage of this incidental factor by repurposing it into an element of the game. While this is understandable enough (and again, appreciable from an audience perspective), I'm convinced that it would've made more sense to not only permit the usage of swords, but to issue swords to everyone at the outset. More time and energy could thus have been devoted to the competition's unique mechanics---which, as far as I'm concerned, compose the most enthralling aspect of the Let's Play---rather than some peripheral threat. Gavin's issue seems to be little more than a formality at any rate, given that he wouldn't have complained if Jack had taken twice/thrice as long to beat mobs to death with a fishing rod as he did to dispatch them with a sword.
But like you said, not a big deal. Just something I found peculiar.

The creepers are despawning not because you are too far away, but because they all naturally despawn at midday - which means there's no point looking for them in the afternoon. This also explains why Jack's creepers despawned but his sheep didn't.
I think some of you guys are taking stuff too seriously. This video was made back at the beginning of august, and the group is still friends and still making videos. You guys are insulting Gavin and trying to play up what could be just banter between friends. Not everything needs to be melodramatic. Do they really care if there's a cheater? They're playing to have fun with friends and to entertain us, and as far as I'm concerned they're doing both amazingly well.
I have more intense arguments than that while playing Dota 2, CS:GO, or Scourge of War: Gettysburg with my friends, and it doesn't effect our relationship. If they and I, as teenagers, can joke around, then I'm sure that grown adults like the guys from RT can do that, too.
Exactly, that's what I'm saying. They aren't going to be annoyed and/or frustrated with each other to the point that it affects their relationship, hence why I find it a bit of an overreaction when people make a big deal about one person apparently badmouthing another.

Creeper Census X The hunters get to put their hole where they want to, hopefully keeping it secret from the others. They have to announce when they have a creeper.
Reqatching these videos in 2023 for the nostalgia. About half way through this video I decided to look at the comments and then saw the controversy I was blissfully unaware of until now.
There's a very detailed video covering the rise and fall of achievement hunter that filled me in on everything publicly known.
Though it was very sad, I still love the content and the years of service the achievement hunter team provided for us. Thank you Geoff, Gavin, Ray, Jack, Michael and everyone behind the scenes.
