Epic 8-Day Family Road Trip with Kids | Part 3: From Khajjiar to the Gateway of Sach Pass

Welcome to Part 3 of our epic 8-day family road trip with kids to Sach Pass and Shinku La! We start our day in Khajjiar, often called the mini Switzerland of India. We wake up to a beautiful morning at HPTDC Hotel Deodar, which is conveniently located opposite Khajjiar ground. After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we check out around 11 AM and take a stroll in the lush Khajjiar ground.
Our adventure continues with a delightful trek in the Deodar forests encircling the ground. The trek is filled with greenery, and we spot multiple species of butterflies, much to the kids' delight. After receiving a call from the hotel to vacate the parking, we start our drive to Bairagarh at around 1:15 PM.
The drive to Bairagarh, the last village on this side of Sach Pass and the gateway to Sach Pass, takes about 5 hours. We bypass Chamba town, driving next to the stunning Ravi River, with breathtaking views along the way. Passing through the narrow roads of State Highway 37, we go by Tissa, another village about 20 km from Bairagarh. Finally, we reach Bairagarh by 7 PM and settle down in Hotel Mannat. The last 5 km drive to Bairagarh is truly picturesque, making for a perfect end to our day.
