Montour didn't have the counting stats like he did last year, but take a look at his advanced stats. The guy finished the season with 60% corsi and 60% fenwick. That's pretty effing strong and suggests that if he's paid 8M and placed next to quinn, that those counting stats should skyrocket back up again. The advanced stats suggest that even without a D partner like hughes, that those counting stats should rebound regardless.
Hronek came with a shoulder injury, which he seemed to have nicely rehabbed in the off-season. With this story about "heavy taping" of an "arm", I'm wondering if he's got one bum shoulder or two. It would be really nice to find out which side was taped. They tape wrists, but if it's the whole arm, then the shoulder is involved, right?
He not only rehabbed it nicely, he came in to camp with the biggest body transformation out of the whole group...ppl been hating on hronek is nonsense...he is a great player..played himself out of a monster contract with his second half stats which now benefits canucks management
Only a couple guys that can break an egg with a shot on this team.I believe these new sticks are a problem for young players.To many limp wrists in the league compared to yesteryear players
U don’t need an offensive guy to play with huggy it’s already known that a defensive dman or any dman in general can play with him.
As much as I admire a 92-point defenceman of earnest, yet civil demeanour, I'm baffled that Hughes was blasting shots over, or wide of, the net for the entirety of the playoffs. He seemed to be doing a good job of actually getting them through, but one would think that it would occasionally hit the goaltender, or am I missing something, no pun intended. Does shooting high decrease the chances of getting blocked? I have even wondered if he was sometimes hoping for a fruitful rebound off the boards. That worked at least once during the season.

Too many of these kids dreamt of the millions....not lifting the cup, Petey seems more concerned with his " brand " and endorsements than a desire to be the guy that brings the cup to Vancouver
Canucks need to prioritize high skill players like necas who can help them make plays in tuff tight games like the playoffs.

Sutherland had to be there to stop the oilers from choking going down 2-0. Only way to improve is meaner. cant waste another season before the OEL buyout. So many ???? about Boeser and Petey. Can't help but feel the smartest thing to do is move Petey east, for picks and cap relief. resign the guys who made an impact in the playoffs. Then use any remaining cap to improve at the deadline and use the picks from petey to swing the deals.
If petey signed a discount we would owe it to him to give more time and figure it out. He got full value. So should the club.
