Classic B-side. Fans may be surprised to learn that the ghostly voices in the outro were made by taking the "Reprise" version of Depeche's "Everything Counts" from 1983, reversing it, pitching it up three keys, and gating the result with verb+delay. A synth effect heard throughout the track features dynamically reverb which changes character on every other beat, an effect created by producer Dave Bascombe. He controlled a reverb unit using a remote control to flip through the presets.
This is on the deluxe version of Music for the Masses. A lot of that album is very throwaway. This is one of them. I love the sonics, but it is a once in a while song, not a regular on the playlist. Regarding DM, I sent you some modern remixes of older stuff, and you still have that Vince Clarke demo from 1981/82 to react to. If I get any other DM remixes I will send them to you.
Oh, I see! Didn't realize there as a deluxe version of that album. Also, I did forget that Vince Clark demo; I'll dig that out of the emails and react to it soon! Also I know I'm lagging majorly on Public Image Limited, but I hope to have two of their songs reacted to by tomorrow.
@@mattsnider2667 The deluxe version (they call it "The Collectors Edition") is basically when they did a load of remasters in 2006 and added all of the b-sides and some remixes on to the CDs. Coincidentally I plugged in an old hifi that hasn't been used for almost a decade and inside was Some Great Reward. An original 1984 CD. It has 9 tracks on it. The 2006 remaster has 17 tracks on it.
I love this song. It's amazing 😊😊
Hi matt. I wanted to ask you of you know the title of the song that can be heard in the video dave gahan i don't dance on RUclips

It was always on the CD version of the album, not just the deluxe. :)
@@MarkSatchwillArt The Glitter Mix was, but the shorter version wasn't.
I'm very confused, because my Music for the Masses definitely doesn't have either version of this one. Is that another American-release thing?
