I agree with you, Morissette is one of the few artists who sound better live than studio recordings. As you mentioned, some singers, when they do live performances, they don't sound as good as their studio versions. But with Mori, especially in the Wish Bus setting, for me these are better, that's why I prefer watching them. Not only is the sound quality so good, but also we get to see her perform up close and see how she really immerses herself in the song, plus the bonus gorgeous smile. 🥰
In this case, for whatever reason, this performance is pitch corrected throughout. I can hear it and I checked it with pitch monitor software. It's very obvious. I don't know if it was Morissette who was behind it, or Wish Bus, but I hate when they do that, especially when it's supposed to be a live performance.
You might know the message about this song, it's a desperate attempt to try and reunite with her father who hasn't spoken to her for over 4yrs now because he took exception to her relationship with her now husband DAVE LAMAR, what a horrible person who doesn't deserve the name father 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

I’m so sorry for Mori. This song sounds like the last attempt to reach her father’s heart, to reconnect but she already seems resigned in her heart that their relationship is really over.
Maybe you should not judge from outside but the behavior of her father is really incomprehensible. Did he really think he had the right to direct his daughter’s life, her career, even her romantic relationships?
