Absolutely. I'm German myself and I just discovered this 1981 gem. This song is pretty cool. A pretty large body of German 70s and 80s music is just waiting to be rediscovered so to speak; a lot of that stuff being hidden due to both the language barrier as well as the - alas - typical German sense of downplaying a lot of their own culture, as in "German is boring/old-fashioned/bad/stupid", as was the case for many, many years apart from a few exceptions. It may sound stupid, but I'm actually re-descovering my own country here.
@@NorthSea_1981 It doesn't sound stupid at all, we have the same situation in Poland with downplaying our own (pop)culture. Btw. Love this song, sounds way ahead its time!
Yes, this song is really good! But it was quite typical for the German New Wave era when a lot of experimental/more avant-garde music became mainstream for the first time. Until that time, German pop music was almost only Schlager/Chanson/Folk pop. I was delighted to see that Poland also has some very good music from this era - I like Bajm's "Co mi panie dasz" and Izabela Trojanowska's "Jestem twoim grzechem" for example.
@@NorthSea_1981 do you know any 1979 German synth pop that predates the British, even if instrumental? Cuz it seems like anglophones stealing the credit for everything as there are many examples of 1979 and pre 1979 euro synthpop unknown to anglophones. This track sounds so advanced for its time, and clearly the first rave pop/dance pop track ever.
@@sharjeel.k126 There is, for example, the experimental and ambient electronic music by the famous German group "Tangerine Dream", who did a lot of groundbreaking work in the 70s. This is their album "Stratosfear", released in 1976: ruclips.net/video/Dpp9ulYMBcc/видео.html ....and there is, of course, Kraftwerk, with songs like this one (released originally in 1977): ruclips.net/video/XMVokT5e0zs/видео.html

Does anybody know which synths was used to this song?
Sounds like Giorgio Moroder, Theo Thais should be a Moog
Anyone else hearing notes and programming from Visage at 2:42? It sounds so “The damned don’t cry”
Marco Sachetto Sii
Yes, drum style in particular. I see it positively. 2 parallel passions with basically same weight imo :)
