I like it, here's a guy turning a 20'' od part, (aka bigger than most youtube lathes can turn) and he's holding it in a ''smaller'' chuck clamped in a large chuck , .......just how 😎 is that?
Chris do you use conversational programming on your lathe if so is that the reason for grooving in z- direction one way since it's a button tool?I use fanuc conversational on my lathe but doesn't give option of feeding both ways when grooving a sheave or pulley hence you don't want to wear one side of the insert which is what I see in your video as well.
Yes, most of my programming is done by hand with FANUC conversational programming and you're right, it won't let you cut both ways. But at least you can do all the tangent points on the machine without a computer/ Mastercam.
If you're working with a button insert to clean out the minor diameter of that pulley, why not just go back and forth, instead of cutting in 1 dir only?

No tak jak to mówią, robota jest na wczoraj. Materiał 1045 żeby większą twardość wyciągnąć przy hartowaniu rowka. Nagrał bym coś z innych maszyn, ale jak zacznę łazić po zakładzie to mnie wywalą z roboty.
@@ChrisMaj Wiem coś o tym jak robiłem przy turbinach miałem być w swoim boksie anie szfędać się po zakładzie ale i tak wlazłem wszędzie i widziałem wszystko polak potrafi ....

Almost all of our machines have a FANUC controls.

It's for a overhead crane.
Why not flip the lathe tool upside down and run spindle other way?
Cause you don't run tools upside down on this lathe, especially for rough turning.
