- Опубликовано: 20 окт 2024
- Rishi Persad is joined by Gavin Lynch to recap a strong weekend of horse racing from Cheltenham and Naas as Ga Law was a battling winner of the Paddy Power Gold Cup. We also see what Gavin's been up to since leaving Racing Post's Upping The Ante earlier in the year.
Sam Turner joins us later in the show to look ahead to meetings at Haydock and Ascot with the Betfair Chase preview (we'll be calling it the Lancashire Chase) and Stayers Handicap Hurdle preview front of mind.

Gavin IS THE MAN. I can listen to his views all day long
Great show guys. Please make this a regular review show with Gavin!!!!
Thanks Sam!
Gavin is a legend miss him on upp8ng the Ante
Gavin is the man...Johnny Dineen is one class replacement though
Gavin needs his own show 👌🏻
He really does doesn't he! He has his own chargable service instead now though
Good to see gavin back
Knows his stuff does Gavin lynch
We agree!
Didn’t have a great antipost with up the ante last year… but a top fella extremely knowledgeable good luck to him with his tipping venture… happy to pick my own losers to be fair 😂😂
😊 Josh here. Firstly, great content! Secondly, a certain somebody is using my name and image to comment nasty things on here and it’s not me.
Hi Josh, we're aware it's not you. Thanks for watching the show - we appreciate the comment.
great stuff
The lynch-meister !
Legend 👏👏👏
Here’s an idea- why not make this sun issue go away by, A- what Willie said, reduce times between races(say, cram 3 or 4 races to 20 mins between races).
B-make races with least fences second last on card and then the bumper. And place one fence into front half of track to avoid sun but slightly change the the long run in between, like the pertemps qualifier.
And C- start slightly earlier- which would mean,we don’t loose the last races to the footy or rugby etc
All these added together, would make a significant reduction to sun effects and promote sport better before playing in competition with fans not having time for getting into racing before other sports event a start.
The game is cutting its own throat- unlike ascot which runs into 5 pm plus.
Even Cheltenham festival is reduced from last races being shown on tv, am that is criminal
20 min game is ridiculous
@@jacob4690 only 3 or 4, it would make middle races more entertaining and less tv crap chat, like saying every owner is “great for the game
Or
He loves his horses” etc
Or such crap like Henderson is so good for the game, but they spent the whole morning show on about to many prep grade one races and a over fillled race program.
Then interview Henderson later, saying he’ll be having words with race planners, as how can he get a run into his horses.
Henderson is full of crap, full of sound sound bites, and is causing a minimal race schedule up to chelt festival, we should just get TV camaras like The trueman show.
But call it seven hundred gold barrows and have Nicky as Trueman.
Why not just design sunglasses for horse's 😅
@@simononeill2633 Christ, are the horse’s complaining as well now
@@gareths8137 😅
Top insight Gavin.. Richie no DJ...
Gavin is class man
Best in the biz for me is Gavin 👏
hard to argue with that Kris!
They're not going to start at 1030. Doors open 0830? There's beer and meals to sell. Move at least one hurdle and/or fence so that the whole spectacle does not become a farce.
Any joined Gavins website.
What did he tip for Cheltenham
I think ukantango did really well too be second too fennor cross at Cheltenham...fennor cross rated in the low 120s and ukantango ran too a RPR of 110 or something...I think a horse to follow in England but probably not a Cheltenham festival horse
Three wise men from the east, heading to Cheltenham.
I think Banbridge will go for the turners tbh...looks like a stayer to me
Question, if you backed Banbridge 10er win at 12/1 for both Arkle & Turner races and he ends up running in the Arkle and wins, you'll get 130 back for the win (12/1 plus your 10er back) minus the 10er you lost on the Turners so you end up with 120 in the pocket. I'd class that as an 11/1 winner for my 10er bet 😉😃
I don't think he's good enough to be beating the Mullins runners in either race thou...chances are we haven't seen Willie's best horses yet
@@tomleach1428 I don’t fancy him, my point (using Gavin’s example) is there’s no problem betting on a horse at a bigger price in two races if you think he’s going to go off short on the day in one of them. State Man for example I nabbed at 16/1 for the County and Martin Pipe last season. Went off 3/1 for the County. I had a 10er win on both so I came out with 160. I know Gavin looks at that as an 8/1 winner but I’d look at is as a 15/1 winner for my 10er. Either way 3/1 was his SP
I think you might of missed the point... Gavin said he won't be a lot of shorter than 11/2 for 1 race on the day
@@simononeill2633 that’s fair enough but he used a different example on a different podcast and I still disagree. 16/1 for state man is better than 3/1 on the day in a county. Banbridge was his example
@@grahamwilshaw3507 County is a handicap so big gambles happen more. But with a horse like Banbridge, he needs good ground which is not certain and not many other top novice chasers have been out yet. I really like Banbridge but 11/2 to win a race at Cheltenham is ludicrous
Hi gavin i was wondering if you could please send me a lucky 31 for ew for cheltenham
Rishi Persad is a master diplomat, always liked the way he handles himself.
We wholeheartedly agree!
LM..you ok in the head.. Gav doesn't only tip favs
Antepost Cheltenham betting is dead...they cut everything whenever they win an egg and spoon race round fairy house so unless you know something nobody else does it's not profitable nowadays
Gav is different gravy
Not on up the ante, very poor tipping, and that was over a period of months.
Gavin Lynch worst tipster ever. Only ever backs the favourite.
Can’t disagree loves a fav
You watch racing yeah
@@jacob4690 don't agree
@Wayne Harrison you his account
@Breederscup God how you know
