I always like to think that whenever Mirio says "Can you see this Sir?" That Nighteye really can see it because he looked into Mirio's future before he died. So Nighteye truly is watching over Mirio
@@JJ_R I mean how they have a similar dynamic, both Joker and Gentle are well dressed criminals who do crimes as similar to pranks. While Harley and La Brava both became deeply infatuated with the criminals because they found them relatable to the point of complete loyalty.

@AndyPlaysAllNight yeah same I saw people yelling "quit with the filler" and to those people I say 1. Let the kids be kids 2. ITS CALLED WORLDBUILDING
It was more because of pacing issues I think, there was also a minor buzz during the first half that the girls' fight was subpar compared to the others (which I assume was because 1-2 episodes after that was 100% deku fight so I'll cut them some slack). It was also around this time that the anime started changing the order of events from the manga (I cant tell, ain't a manga reader). I assume that people just wanted something to hate so this arc got caught in the crossfire.
If there’s one thing I love about MHA and it’s artstyle, it’s that it can easily blend from absolutely adorable designs like Eri, to demonic looking mofo’s like Gigantomachia
“I have met so many heroes in my life Gave me strength and courage to survive Gave me the power to smile every day Now it’s my turn to be the one to make you smile” idk if Horikoshi had anything to do with the lyrics of the song but this part, to me, encapsulates this whole story so well. The author clearly has been impacted by other shonen manga and anime like Naruto and One Piece as well as stuff like Star Wars, western comics and the MCU. and it feels like this song really highlights what he’s trying to do with this series: he wants to pay it forward with these amazing characters inspired by other stories and moments that make us all smile.
This may have come up in the chat, but in the manga, Gorilla Cop tells Gentle that there are hero courses for adults as well. He probably faces a bit of jail time, but after that...
Eri's first smile broke me instantly. I feel sympathetic towards a girl that forgot how to smile having grown up in rough conditions and having a niece in a similar situation. There was her smile so that her dad and grandparents wouldn't worry. But when we took her to her first Women's world cup(soccer) and we scored. That smile, the look on her face brought me and her grandfather to tears seeing her so excited and happy. Genuinely, a child's smile can light up whole world. Seeing Eri smile so excitedly and eagerly afterwards makes me smile with a tear, it still gets me everytime.
Some fun info from the novels not in the anime, I won't go into too much detail because the entirety of the 4th novel is just about the festival, but Bakugo is so determined because the record on the obstacle course was set by All Might when he was still a UA student, and due to many behind the scenes mishaps Monoma unknowingly carried the 1B production (Tetsutetsu gave himself food poisoning)
Oh God you crying made me cry dammit- There are so many good messages in the show, i love it. Jiro feeling like by not being a musician, she was wasting the love her parents gave her. Eri being sad that her fun day is over being given a candy apple and being told Deku would make it again for her. The cop telling Gentle that people CAN be redeemed. Just a lot of people actually dont want to or are too impatient. Hits so damn hard.
I would like to think that they made the candied apple like how they showed for a brief bit in the opening - Midoriya giving the stick to Tsu to stick the apple on it. Sato, who has the sugar mix, then gives that to Bakugo to boil it up. Uraraka then grabs the apple on the stick and coats it with the melted sugar mix. Todoroki cools the apple with his ice, and Kirishima breaking the ice to finish it off.
The fights are cool and all, but it’s always great to see these kids just having a good time. They deserve it. Also, in a weird way, Midoriya kinda saved Gentle and La Brava by arresting them. Since they hadn’t done anything messed up, they were able to be somewhat let off the hook.
Gentle Criminal is my absolute favorite Character in this show, he is the personification of "Good Intentions" in a society where you can be considered a criminal without the right powers if you try to do good things.
Seeing Alicia realize that nothing bad happened during the festival is something to behold lol. When she started to get paranoid that it was going to end badly, I couldn't help but smile knowing what awaited her. She cried, but happy tears for once.
Although many may not agree with it, i think this episode is one of MHA's best episodes. Not only do we get the resolution of Gentle and La Brava (argueably some of the best antagonists in the show), but we also get the resultion of Eri's storyline as well as a few more feel-good moments for all other students. PS: It is also pretty much the only episode where Mineta (Grape Boy) isn't completley insufferable... and that is honestly a miracle all by itself.
Loved the music act in this episode and Eri having a fun time. Good feels all around. Also happy that Gentle was given a chance to work towards redemption
Gentle is 100% aware that his care for La Brava is mutual. Just like him claiming the fight with Deku didn't happen he is trying to protect her by claiming she had no agency to be an accomplice to his crimes. It's the one final thing he can do for each of them after he lost.
"Sir, can you see this?" Of course he can, Mirio. He used his Foresight on you in the last moment to look at your life through your own eyes. He'll be able to see everything you do.
This whole arc really was all about love, wasn't it? There's the romantic feelings between Gentle & La Brava but also the parent-child relationship with Jiro and her parents, and the care everyone has for Eri. I also like that the kids get a 100% win: no one dies or is maimed or traumatized. Arguably, even Gentle & La Brava get saved here in that they're prevented from doing anything that's actually a big deal.
Get ready friends. For SHE is arriving soon. Thirst from Alicia? Maybe, maybe not. But we all know the truth, that ripped muscle mommy is in fact the best girl.
Oh wait yea she does appear briefly next episode. I always forget that she exists prior to her big fight scene, it’s just so memorable that it overshines everything else for me
As someone who owes his life to a specific song, helping me decide not to off myself back when I was a teenager, that scene of Overhaul's shadow, being burned away from Eri as she finally finds her smile again, always chokes me up. I do love that the dev team of MHA took the time to show how there are others ways to save people, other than punching something in the face. And music, is probably one of the most powerful, transformative forces in our society. And that scene captures it beautifully.
