At least he has heard of them. Given their ages there is a good section of music that they wouldn't know without actively trying to find (mid to late 90s through late 00s)

Anyway the lead singer of BB has been talking to Christian artists including Lacey Sturm formerly of Flyleaf and he looks to be thinking a lot about God and the Bible.

  • @PolishSausageEnthusiast

The best thing about BB, is that they always purposefully leave their songs up to interpretation. You can take it as you will, and it will always mean something different and meaningful to each person that listens to them.

  • @TheArtistJ777
    @TheArtistJ777 4 года назад +2

This was something I wrote last year about what you were talking about
    "It's Not In Me"
    Written by
    The Artist J
"My Salvation isn't dependent on how many times I fail
If it were, the trail would be measured by how many times I've bailed
See, my strength pales in comparison to how many times I've fell
    The more I fail
    The faster I bail
    And the harder I fell
Is exactly the proof to know that I can never save myself
    It
    Is
    Not
    In
    Me
    What a humbling phrase
Dependence can bring a PEACE that pride just can't replace
Dependence- Is it a word for the weak?
    Or is it what all
    desperately seek?
If Salvation is up to me then I'm bound to fail
    The question is
    "Do I know anyone
    that can prevail?"
There is only one with a record that's clean
    Never fell
    Never failed
    Never bailed
    In accomplishing His goals
Even when that goal was to take the failures of His foes
Took all my sin and died nailed to a tree
Rose to live again and supplies my every need
    Salvation? Eternity?
    Absolutely Not!
    Not Dependent on me!
    Jesus Alone!
    Exactly As It Should Be
    end"

Breaking Benjamin is my favorite band by far. When I listen to BB , I usually talk to God and He with me when I sing every BB song.
Ashes of Eden you should not listen with the music video , just close your eyes on each song and just...listen .
Ashes of Eden is about a relationship , but a relationship with God , not a human relationship. He sings about God and how people (and he) have fallen so far from paradise (Eden/closeness with God) . It's about his Love for God as well as the struggles through the pain, he asks God to stay with him throughout his time on earth until Jesus returns in the end.

The singer Ben Burnley has a really tragic story. In the early 00s he drank pretty heavily and one time he got really drunk and woke up the next feeling worse than he ever felt. He figured it would go away, but it never did. He was diagnosed with WKS and says he lives with constant severe headaches and vertigo and regrets having ever touched alcohol. He pushes through it though and uses the pain to fuel his screams when he’s performing on stage. He’s really down to earth and never considered himself a rock star, rather a lucky professional musician. I pray for him a lot, since he seems to be searching for Jesus. I think he’s already a secular theist, I just really hope he comes to Christ before it’s too late. I absolutely love this band and I get excited everytime they put out new music.

I’ll use Jung psychology here. If you read the read or listen to excerpts of the book then you can say why can’t he hear his soul? Can he hear it or is he worthy of listening to the inner voice. Looking at esoteric philosophy, Eden is the collective unconscious as the ashes is the faint connection between the self and the soul where Eden is. And if your guardian angel also a metaphor in the story. Like a child we hide or out off ourselves to the good when we do nonsensical or evil things.

So when I was like 5 I knew them when they were local, and after the issues that went down the original guitarist has been in my mother's bar a few times so I know him now a little bit. This song is truly amazing! The symbolism & the imagery are other-worldly. It truly makes you think & feel about the tumultuous weight that it is to be a human being. This song made me cry the first time I heard it & it will always make me emotional. In all the ups & downs of existing as human beings & our dynamics with each other we can only hope that we will have eternal light & love when our physical existence is done. I do believe in reincarnation though so I think that our physical existence is only one of many lives that we will have. Anyway it’s a really beautiful song. I’d love to talk to Benjamin Burnley one day.

I know this is an old video, but some context to the song. When they initially toured with this song. I can't remember if Ben said he wrote it after or before but was contributing to the people of Paris after the bombing in Paris that had happened at the time. So I have always felt this had beautiful song ties to Christianity

As a Pagan, I don't necessarily agree with your viewpoints but I respect and appreciate your personal theology as long as you found your personal deity along your unique path instead of being told who to believe in since childhood and not given the freedom to cultivate your own personal thought. It's in my personal thought that we all believe in the same sort of deity or even pantheon (God and his named angels) but just by a different name and in the end if we lived a good life we all join our loved ones among the stars and look after our family from the celestial heavens and do our best to sway the heavens to tip the scales in our loved one's favor when it matters most to keep them safe, healthy, and happy

Sometimes, there are seasons of silence and those can be frustrating but God is always working for a better plan than you or I could ever imagine. My personal story is that my wife and I suffered through 6 miscarriages and a failed adoption. I was ANGRY. However, God had a bigger and better plan. I did not think that he was listening to my cries. He was. My wife and I adopted a brother and sister that had parents dealing with drug addiction. It was done in God's timing. Within a month of welcoming those babies into our home, my wife became pregnant with #7. We did not expect to be able to bring that baby home. When we heard his heart beating on the ultrasound, I laughed like Abraham. Again, I was stunned and not quite sure of what was occurring. Every appointment, every ultrasound went well. Within a span of 8.5 months we went from zero to three kids. God had a plan for us to save those 2 children. He has a plan for their life that will bring glory to Him. We were blessed for our faithfulness to him, even in the midst of his silence in our struggles. Going through something like that is quite difficult. Having been through it, I can say that my faith is much stronger. I understand my Heavenly Father in a real way that goes beyond the typical platitudes that you hear on Sundays. I just pray that I am able to share some wisdom from my experience to help others through the difficulties that life presents us with.

Thanks for reviewing this song. I love this song and have been listening to it a lot this past week and a couple days. I saved this video to see your theory on Ashes of Eden a few nights ago. I wanted to search for a scripture tonight to try and help ease some of my pain and I decided to watch your video instead and I'm happy I did. You threw out some scripture about David and how he felt about God forsaken him and then how he knew that God has been there for him and loved him. That's how I've been feeling but I know deep down he blessed me more than I know and more than I deserve and more that I could ever pay him back. I too get chills listening to this song no matter how many times I've heard it or the many of times I have it on repeat. Thank you again, I really needed this. God bless Robert Houghton

If I am remember right, Benjamin believes in the Christian's God, but he doesn't like organized religion.

Ben, the lead singer of Breaking Benjamin had a brain tumour and a lot of the songs from Dear Agony and Dark Before the Dawn are written in response to that struggle in his life. I believe that old mate is ok now, but he went through some soul searching and back and forth with Christianity during that time.

When you were talking about the bridge, I can’t help but think of a bridge in my area literally started falling apart and had to be closed for weeks, lol. And now they opened up one side of the bridge, always stressful to drive across, haha.

I dedicated this song to my kitten. It seems stupid, but I prayed everyday for Him to help me save this baby. Again a long story, but I still bawl my eyes out when I hear it...

I love breaking benjamin. If you want a follow up song to understand thier reference to 'the light have a listen to the song failure by breaking benjamin. I have a line from that tattooed into my skin "look for the light that leads me home" . It might help you understand it. Ben Hurley has stated many times that he believes in a higher power and that his wife is a Christian. In fact alot of thier other music makes me wish i was still a Christian and sometimes even makes me wonder if maybe I can go back and find my faith again.

Hi guys! I’ve been binge watching some of your videos and I’m currently watching your reaction to Metallica, Creeping Death, which is one of my favorite songs, and I wanted to suggest another song that I’d like you to do a reaction to, and that is Megadeth, “Washington Is Next,” which has lots of biblical references throughout the song. Anyway, I just wanted to make that suggestion and to also keep uploading videos. Rock on!!

Breaking Benjamin is very closely associated with the Christian band Red that you guys reacted to before. There base player used to be a member of Red and the band members are good friends and tour together a lot.

Someone might have already clarified this, but "big chungus" is the nickname name given to Bugs Bunny in one specific scene from the show.
Also, I got the "big orange guy" reference and I'm surprised.
Also again, you saying the "small voice" that God is known for reminded me of the song Watch the children pray by Metal church, I already mentioned it but we can't have "lots of people requested it" if no one actually does.

In the video at least what I got from it is that the guy floating from the ship is the voice of the song struggling with his faith and the person who abandoned the rest of the team is supposed to be the Shepard who leaves the 99 sheep to find the lost one like when your distraught god will do everything to comfort u idk maybe I’m wrong but that’s what I took from it
