Bro bless your soul, I don’t have any rare cards but I find it fun to collect them the problem is, my younger self decided it was a good idea to put my initials on the back so no one stole them.
Savour! I’ve got first edition base set cards from when I was a kid, but I drew stars on the back so I knew they were mine (typical 10 year old in 1999) but I used ballpoint. So I’ll be cracking out the WD-40 when I get home. Thanks again
Nice mate! Finally a video where someone isn’t like I’m going to show you how to remove scratches and then they pull out sand paper 🙈🙈 so thank you! Very helpful 🙌
Going to try the ipa out later on some GBA game boxes, i think if you dab it with paper towel immediately after each application you might get less ink smudging from the art on the cardboard. I'll let you know how it goes!
Oh please do! I was trying to keep it as uniform as possible so it was a semi fair test haha. For example, I did a solo test with the acetone for longer, and it stripped all the ink from the card
So with the IPA and WD-40 what about drying?m time… did the “smudging” eventually disappear or did it remain. I have the smallest amount of red biro on an extremely rare card. (Currently graded a PSA 8) I want to crack the case and try to remove the mark….. 😅
Oh interesting, I thought PSA were refusing to grade cards with pen on them! Well, unless it’s a signature haha. They stayed how you see them at the end of the video unfortunately, I still have the cards used in this just to see if they did change over time, but it seems the ink that smudges just dries in where it ends up.
@@CardCatcherSam ok thanks for getting back to me. Yea I thought so too. I have a WB kids creator Pikachu and the only defect is this tiny Red biro mark…. It’s a risk.
Does this work if it's on cracked ice holo and it was wrote on a few years back? I just checked the price of my Pikachu and now want to get sharpie/dry erase ink off of it.
I want to say yes, but you’ll have to be extra careful because it will strip the ink off from underneath too, revealing the holo foil if you use too much/ too aggressive with the wiping
Here’s how to remove permanent marker of a glossy or semi glossy trading do not use this on back of vintage cardboard card … it’s sounds unorthodox but, I swear it works go over stain with a dry-erase white board marker let it dry for about 3 minutes then remove stain with micro fiber rag … like magic both stains will disappear… I swear on everything that is holy that this will work it even works on old vinyl record covers as this is how I discovered this hack … hope this comment will help … I swear I’m not trolling
Do you have any home remedies for getting ink of cards?

makes sense, like when you use permanent marker on white boards, You cover it with the erasable marker and it gets rid of it
Going to try this later for some cards I regrettably marked when I was younger, hopefully years later this still works. Thanks!🙏
Don’t try this at home!!, do it on the garden
Cool
