    Cowboys fan since 1960. When Tom Landry was fired, I hated the way it was carried out. However, years of winning results in low draft picks and the Cowboys weren’t making up the difference. Something was needed. Brady left and that was huge in NE. They got used to winning, and they’ve been in a sort of organizational shock ever since. Something needed to change.

      Landry had drafted Michael Irvin and was probably going to draft Aikman so who knows.

    Disappointed that no discussion is happening about the GM vacancy that Bill leaving has created. Just the coaching vacancy. Funny too because the Patriots issues largely are the team composition and not the coaching.

    I think the Krafts werent happy with the last 5or6 years or so....they painted themselves into corner with promising Mayo the job....
    I really thought they would let Bill ride it into the sunset

    • @JJ_5289
      @JJ_5289 10 месяцев назад +1

      The Krafts wanted to take back their team. They felt Bill had way too much power and not enough "dr no's" to question him as Kraft hinted in the press conference. Wasnt the perfect way to handle the situation but I'm happy that they are willing to give someone new a chance.

    Nobody seen it coming are you mental?? Everyone that said the pats wont win at least 6 games this year was beaten with a stick and told to shut up. Now we get the guy that most probably doesnt get a HC job at any other team in the league. Pats better hit on atleast 2 drafts and free agentsy otherwise Mayo is out.

    TLDR: Tom is told by the team in December that Bill is gone, Krafts did not tell Bill “during the last 2 weeks of season”. So an outsider knew, yet didnt tell anyone the breaking news. Interesting, for a reporter.

    Mayo is a place holder. Vrabel, when availible, will go to NE. By not having Mayo there Pats would have spent more money in an interim HC/GM postions until Vrabel can commit.

    Why would he go to TV for a year, when there’s not any good options for next season.
    If/when PHI loses, Howie is going after BB first, then Vrabel. And Washington has a great situation (#2 pick, new ownership, east coast). Owner willing to be aggressive financially.

    I love the fact that Tom Currant will become a nobody again now that Belichick is gone. Belichick is the only reason he gained national fame. Thank God he will go back to being an irrelevant local sports writer where he belongs. Good luck with Mayo as your head coach.

    Owner Kraft is blocking any real change, so the Pats probably won't show much improvement this year. He chose an inexperienced in-house coach for head coach, and now the word is he's not planning to hire a new GM, since he apparently doesn't want any new or different ideas coming in from outside. He apparently wants to insert himself more actively in the internal affairs of the Pats, so this next season could well be just as bad as the last one. A major blunder is being made right now.

    Was it worth it? No, I can’t say it was because I’ve never been the same type of fan since then. I haven’t been to a game since Parcells was the coach and a undermanned Detroit team with John Kitna upset them at Texas Stadium. 😀 Of course, I didn’t sit here and say that any other owner/coach combo would have done any better. When the general manager is the owner, there’s not much accountability. Any other general manager would have been fired years ago. I actually have a bigger problem with the NFL as a whole these days. They need to stay out of politics, but they can’t seem to help themselves, and I think it’s because Congress allows them to be a monopoly…..😀. I do enjoy the playoffs, though. I think they will be interesting…..thanks for your reply. I’m just an old East Texas boy who grew up playing the game when it was a little different. Have a great day!

    I think BB is the greatest coach of all time. That being said, why would a team want a 72 yr old coach who just finished 5-11 with some horrendous loses? I'm sure someone is going to convince themselves hes going to come in and turn everything around. That just dosesnt seem to be the case. Every other HOF level coach gets out when they are clearly not what they once were, its strange that at his age he is going to start fresh with another team. I'm a Cowboys fan, and please keep him away from my team, unless he wants to be defensive coordinator after DQ leaves for Seattle. BB can coach my D any day, thats it at this point in his career though.

    After Brady left many germans also jumped ship. If I had to guess who the most popular nfl franchise in germany is, my money would be on the Seahawks. Behind that are the Chiefs, 49ers, Patriots and Green Bay(My observation, guess that depends on your age, peer group, region and so on).

    So,one more indication that Belichick is a fraud. He worked with the offense primarily this year,which was abysmal. Meanwhile,his son and Mayo worked with the defense and it was one of the best in the league. Stop hyping this fraud. I hope he ends up in Atlanta where they won’t be relevant
