we switched our RTT mattress pad with 2- exped Megmat 10 air mattress that are all season. husband likes firm mattress I like a soft one. we can each get what we like. I sleep better then at home on my tempur-pedic. Love the exped!
I like how the Alpha has the ladder that goes down into the annex room(if you have it attached), but even without it the rainfly on the Alpha covers the ladder better. This way if the kids, dogs or toilet can be in it and you don't have to go outside and then around into the separate annex. Does the CVT tent have an annex that can be off the ladder portion(doesn't look like it)? I do like the CVT ease of open/ close though. What rack are you running? Can you fit it on with any tonneau cover(I know you probably won't be able to open a tri-fold fully though. Nice video.
I think CVT does offer the ladder into the annex but not on the model I have. Your correct with the points in favor of the ladder to annex, all things I miss. I use the adarac system and can only open last portion of tonneau.
Tough call for me. I hate to say it but the one thing that made me go for the Alpha was the moon roof. If the CVT had it I would have bought one. Price also was a factor.
Hey I really like your rig and great video by the way! I am looking at getting the Adorak rack for my F150. I love the idea of an RTT. I’m in the process of deciding on a tonneau cover and wonder if with that rack I would be better to get a rolling cover instead of a flip cover so I can open up the entire bed while the rack is on. Any thoughts?
I can fit my wife's thick bag and my small one but no pillows arranged just right. Easily my thin bag a pillow and ladder. I keep the ladder in my truck bed. The Ikamper will definitely have more room. It's similar to my old tent. I only switched for the ht of the tent as it's even with my truck cab.
Just did the same thing. Wasn’t impressed with the quality of the alpha 2 tbh. Lots of quality control issues even after it being replaced. I also asked Monica, the owner, about coming out with a clam shell. It is not in the works it sounds.

I was thinking about doing that. I will have to look into those.
Thanks man for the video. My friend has the ALPHA and loves it. I do like it but wanted a clamshell. Appreciate the video!!
Thanks for the kind words.
Thanks for the info, just pulled the trigger one myself
I'm really enjoying mine.

The Alpha definitely has some advantages. If tuff stuff offered a slimmer tent I would have went with it. They make a great product for the price.
@@tractortotrail Thx for all of your feedback on both. Very helpful
What was that bed rack called ? I like how the RTT sits level with cab of the truck.
Thanks it's a adarac bed rack m series I think.
Thank you for the info will be looking into these soon.

Thanks. Yes the rolling rack is the best bet. I would have gone that route but I already had the flip style.
@@tractortotrail Thanks for responding. Do you know if the Adarak M Series works with the Retrax Pro MC tonneau cover?
Can't say for sure if it would work or not.
Can you fit the Sleeping bag and the Ladder in there. Im debating on this or the iKamper

They might get around to the clam shell if they realize the demand is there, hopefully.
I'm really enjoying the CVT
@@tractortotrail loving it so far also. The set up and quality is top notch in my opinion! I had a very good experience ordering mine over the phone.
Agreed
Does the CVT awning come with a floor?
The awning no, but the awning room does. It's a nice set up.
What size CVT did you go with?
I went the 56 wish I did 60. Although it does fit nicely behind the truck and allows room on each side for awning etc
