SPOILERS and then the akane jail fight comes along and kicks you in the nuts precisely once and then the HEEEEEY hops you on enough adrenaline to finish ~10 boss fights in a row and even then it's barely enough to scrape by a win after dashing like a cracked up rooster for 10 minutes

@@jonathanmarks3112 I always interpreted it as a double reference to Joker playing with his foes (you can see he really enjoys battle and the control he has over it due to his general smugness and grins during fights, Strikers references it even further by having him actually enjoy the stereotypical hero role he's given in one of the Jails depending on your dialogue choices) and to his relationship with Pancake as they both try to outwit each other throughout most of the game but ultimately, Joker keeps winning and is well aware of what Pancake is trying to do.
I love how sparingly they used this in game. It's only used in moments when a giant fight breaks out or the Theives are basically guaranteed to ambush someone. This makes songs like this, Life Will Change and Daredevil all the more special when they show up. *Spoilers* And when this plays for EVERY FIGHT in the Tower Of Life, it feels so goddamn triumphant, like the Phantom Thieves have no chance of losing to these enemies.
I honestly loved the specific boss fight this one plays. The only way that scene could be upgraded is against an actual alternate - spoilers- --------------------------------- Phantom Thieves group, with names and backstory.
Imagine if this is what played during Shido’s fight it’d just fit so well The boy he tried to ruin the life of came back in order to change his heart and take revenge He never saw it coming and it was his last surprise The song would’ve been sentimental too since it’s the song that played during normal battles and for it to play against the final heart you’re suppose to change would be like saying “everything you’ve done and overcome has lead up to this moment. This is your final battle.”
It doesn't quite hit the "I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with me." vibes as hard as Rivers in the Desert does. It'd still be good though.

I haven't played strikers a lot, but I freaked out when I first heard this bc I love rock and metal, so hearing a rock take on last surprise was awesome to hear
*[SPOILERS]* This song made the fight against Akane's Joker so awesome and badass. The button mash QTE was so cool, too. Honestly, I'd love to see another Persona 5 game that does something like this.
I also love how fast paced it is because it shows that the phantom thieves aren't playing around at this point. They're storming up to 6+ jails in a month. Goes to show that things are faster paced and more urgent. I love it
The original is smooth af and played perfectly for the turn based system. This one is perfect to the ass whooping you get to lay down in Scramble. Both work at the same level of hype for me.
After +100 hours of turned base combat the hack'n'slash musou insanity of this game really fits well with a more "metal" version of its own soundtrack.
Whenever I hear this song I think of me constantly phantom dashing around the street lights when fighting Black Frost for a late-game request. lol that fight took forever
you see the Hoard of Shadows in front of you, it's you vs. the army, and you know this. This music comes on, and even if you've NEVER played or looked at a Musou game in your life, you know exactly what's about to happen here: You're about to go on a Rampage to make the DOOM Slayer proud, looking and feeling like a total badass while doing it, and this was going to be your new normal for this game.

you see the Hoard of Shadows in front of you, it's you vs. the army, and you know this. This music comes on, and even if you've NEVER played or looked at a Musou game in your life, you know exactly what's about to happen here: You're about to go on a Rampage to make the DOOM Slayer proud, looking and feeling like a total badass while doing it, and this was going to be your new normal for this game.
i love it when this music takes oveer for the dungeon mini bosses fights. when im stomping on them its good but when im making a come back its even better because that means more of it gets to play
